About This Tool

The smallest Nemotelus is only 4.0 to 8.0 mm. This species is black and usually has large white spots. The skin color of the two sexes is different. The head is rounded, but the face has a pointed nose and dorsal antennae. The face lobes below the antennae are conical and prominent, and the entire face area is pushed forward by the antennae to expand the interface and the freon above the antennae. The male’s eyes are almost fused, and the ventral facet is smaller. The Proboscis is geniculate. Body shape and wing ventilation are usually similar to Oxycera, on the lower side,

Nemotelus species are not common and are easy to grab by the fingers. They prefer places with water or relative humidity, such as swamps and wetlands, and are usually found in flowers of the Umbelliferae and Compositae families, sometimes in large numbers. The random tool generated a total of 193 items, recording the Nemotelus species with different names. If you want to know if an insect belongs to that species, a random tool will give you the complete answer.
