About This Tool

The Spirit of CITES is to control rather than completely ban the international trade of wild species. It uses species classification and licensing to achieve the sustainable use of the wild species market. Appendix III is a list of 161 species for which countries, depending on their domestic needs, regulate international trade regionally, but this random tool compiles a detailed list of only 156 items.

Each state party to the convention has the right to take special measures for the management and protection of its own rare species. The treaty calls on states parties to restrict the form of trade in certain species and document the trade-in that species by documentary evidence. With the rapid development of human economy and society, this balance has been destroyed, the rate of species extinction is accelerating, and the animal and plant resources are being lost at an unprecedented rate. These captive species, as recorded in the generators, can be bought and sold and circulated around the world.

Click the "Display All Items" button and you will get a list of species protected by CITES Appendix III.
