About This Tool

Notiphila is a small fly, ranging in length from 1.5 to 4 mm. The majority of the insects are yellow-brown, but some are black. Head has a pair of large and more bright red compound eyes, two compound eyes inside three pairs of eye rim setae, compound eyes between the back of the head slightly raised, forming a monocular triangle area, three monocular eyes in front of the lower birth of a pair of monocular setae.

There are 163 species of Noctiphila in the world and they were first discovered in the paleogene. The random tool records the names of these subgenera in detail, including the dates on which they were found. So many names you’ve probably never heard before, but never mind, the generator will help you quickly identify them.
