About This Tool

The CITES convention was signed in Washington, D.C., on March 3, 1973. There are three appendices. Appendix I contains the names and information of 614 rare species protected under the convention in this random tool. States Parties recognize that many beautiful and diverse wildlife and plants are an irreplaceable part of the Earth’s natural system and must be protected for the benefit of present and future generations of humankind.

Appendix I mainly records the list of species previously established as rare animal and plant resources. From an aesthetic, scientific, cultural, recreational, and economic point of view, the value of wildlife is growing, regardless of the country from which these appendix species are found in their generators, should be the best protectors of the country’s wildlife.
