About This Tool
Streptomyces species exist in our environment, and they’re everywhere. They are the highest form of Actinomycetes. There are thousands of species known to man, but only 672 of them, mostly in the soil, are recorded in this random tool. Ninety percent of antibiotics produced by known actinomycetes are produced by this genus.
The species mainly distributed in neutral or slightly alkaline soil with low water content and rich organic matter, and most of them were saprophytic and aerophilic heterotrophic bacteria. Because can generate a large number of spores, it has a strong anti-drying ability. The resulting Streptomyces Species are the primary source of research for biologists and cytologists, and the full scientific names of each genus and species are presented in the tool.
