About This Tool

Twenty-four brownfields in Iowa that have been randomly tool on the NPL’s Superfund website are eligible for government-sponsored clean-up, or government-assisted clean-up, while also allowing the EPA to apply pressure on responsible parties, require payment, or assistance in clean-up. Of these “Brownfields”, thankfully some have been cleared and removed from the superfund site.

If you want to know every brownfield in Iowa, the specific numbers, lists, cities, causes of contamination, time of inclusion, and time of removal can be used to track the disposal of these plots at any time and place from this generator. To prevent another Luff Canal incident from happening anywhere in the country, the Superfund website forced the government to act quickly.

Click the "Display All Items" button and you will get a list of Superfund sites in Iowa.
