About This Tool

The Superfund Act, which is implemented by the United States Environmental Protection Agency, specifies that four categories of responsible parties, including owners, operators, carriers and waste producers, are responsible for “Brownfield” clean-up and rehabilitation. So these 14 pieces of “Brownfield” governance information from Maine, which are kept in the random tool, represent the local government’s great determination to restore the polluted land.

You can also see specific numbers, detailed lists, cities and pollution cause for each of Maine’s brownfields in the generator. Most of the sites registered on the Superfund’s website are governed by taxes on domestically produced and imported petroleum products, taxes on chemical raw materials, environmental taxes, regular allocations and recovery and management costs from those responsible for pollution.

Click the "Display All Items" button and you will get a list of Superfund sites in Maine.
