About This Tool

The Superfund Act, which is implemented by the United States Environmental Protection Agency, specifies that four categories of responsible parties, including owners, operators, carriers, and waste producers, are responsible for “Brownfield” clean-up and rehabilitation. So these costs, in addition to being borne by the government, in many cases also require the responsible party to take some of the money previously earned and use it to restore environmental protection. In Vermont, a random tool recorded 14 such sites that were sacrificed for economic development in the late 20th or early 2000s, only now do governments remember to restore and govern.

If you are an environmental enthusiast and you are concerned about the recovery of natural resources, then you can choose to go to the generator and see the details of each brownfield, this includes specific Cerclis ID, Name, County, Proposed Date, Listed Date, Construction completed Date, and time of removal. General pollution treatment requires 10-20 years of rectification and recovery process, during which the human, time and money spent is unimaginable.

Click the "Display All Items" button and you will get a list of Superfund sites in Vermont.
