About This Tool

The history of the Ugandan Parliament goes back to the beginning of the last century. In 1920, a Privy Council was issued to set up a Legislative Council chaired by the Governor-General. Initially, only Europeans joined, with the first Asian in 1926, three Africans in 1945, and 60 commissioners in 1955. The parliamentary leader is the Speaker of the house, a tool that randomly selects only 11 recent speakers for presentations, details of which are still to be seen.

A complete list of the speakers, their party affiliation, specific dates of entry and departure and length of tenure are kept in the generator for those interested in Ugandan politics. The term of office of the President of each parliament is five years and is divided into plenary sessions. Mainly by-election and recommendation, but the candidates are often in their own parties have occupied an important position, and have a certain prestige.

Click the "Display All Items" button and you will get a list of Speakers of the Parliament of Uganda.
