About This Tool

South Ossetia was an autonomous state under the Georgian Soviet Socialist Republic during the Soviet era. Declared independence in the 1990s, it was recognized by nine countries, including Russia, Venezuela, Nicaragua, and Nauru, with 8 of them having diplomatic relations. Like Russia, it has a two-chamber system, in which only 10 of the country’s 10 former house speakers are selected at random.

Detailed lists, including their entry and exit dates, length of tenure, and so on, are available through the generator tool. In the early years, they served a short term of one to three years, until a fixed term of three years was established and they could stand for re-election. These spokespersons are distinguished officials who have made great contributions to the political cause, are able to stand on their own feet, and have made concrete contributions to the country and its parties. Their untiring efforts have brought about great progress in South Ossetia.

Click the "Display All Items" button and you will get a list of Speakers of the Parliament of South Ossetia.
