  When Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton started filming Cleopatra in 1961, they hated each other. She called him "brutish and boorish;" he called her "Miss Tits." When it was time for their first on-scene kiss, however, all of that seemed to go out the window. The director called cut, then cut again, then again... but they couldn't stop kissing.

  There was one catch, however: they were both married at the time. Taylor was with her fourth husband, Eddie Fisher, and Burton was married to Sybil Williams. Once word of their scandalous kiss got out, their marriages went up in flames. The two eventually divorced their respective spouses and married each other from 1964 to 1974, divorced, and then remarried each other from 1975 to 1976.

Although Aniston cited "irreconcilable differences" in her divorce filing just months before the movie's premiere, Pitt later went on record as saying he "fell in love" while shooting the film with Angelina Jolie. Suddenly, the rumors of an on-set dalliance seemed to be true. Jolie also confirmed that sparks flew while filming, despite her hesitance to pursue a married man.

  "It took until, really, the end of the shoot for us, I think, to realize that it might mean something more than we’d earlier allowed ourselves to believe," she said. "And both knowing that the reality of that was a big thing, something that was going to take a lot of serious consideration."

  One month after Aniston's filing, a paparazzo spotted Jolie and Pitt vacationing with Jolie's adoptive son, Maddox, in Africa. Just like that, Brangelina was born.

  Destroyed Marriage: Humphrey Bogart and Mayo Methot (1938-1945)

  Before becoming one of the most famous couples in movie history, Humphrey Bogart and Lauren Bacall were just friends - friends who happened to kiss and hold hands on set. After shooting a pivotal scene in 1944's To Have and Have Not, people started to notice playful behavior between 19-year-old Bacall and 44-year-old Bogart. According to costar Dan Seymour, despite the 25 year age difference, "We knew things were happening. He had that sort of smile you can still see on the screen.”

  Unfortunately, Bogart was married to mentally unstable actress Mayo Methot, who wasn't thrilled to hear news of their flirtation. Bogart saw this as an opportunity to get out of a loveless marriage, and to avoid being stabbed by Methot again (really). The two divorced soon after the movie, and Bogey married Bacall. The couple stayed together until his death in 1957.

Though he was married to Maggie Johnson at the time, Eastwood began a not-so-secret affair with costar Sondra Locke that eventually led to the two cohabitating. The relationship, like his past extramarital dalliances, ended in failure and resentment, but it did lead to his divorce from Johnson.

  When Days of Thunder began filming in early 1990, Tom Cruise was already in hot water with then-wife Mimi Rogers due to his past philandering. His on-set whirlwind love affair with costar Nicole Kidman turned out to be the nail in the coffin, as Cruise and Rogers divorced just one month into the production process.

  A former Scientology executive has said that Scientology leader David Miscavige also played a part in the divorce; he had an ongoing feud with Rogers's father. Regardless of the details, Cruise and Kidman married less than one year after meeting.

  What goes up must come down, and Brangelina came down hard after 2015's By the Sea. At the time of the film's release, Jolie told press that the movie - which chronicles the disintegration of a marriage - was a "test" of her marriage to Brad, but in hindsight it seems more like a documentary. Rumors flew during production about Jolie's "dark side" poisoning her relationship during filming, while Jolie herself confirmed that she butted heads with her husband on set.

  One year after the movie's release, Jolie filed for divorce.

  Destroyed Marriage: Marilyn Monroe and Arthur Miller (1956-1961)

  Marilyn Monroe and playwright Arthur Miller had been married four years when they united professionally on the set of The Misfits, but the movie's pressures proved too much for the mismatched couple. Miller wrote the movie as a dramatic starring vehicle for Monroe, but annoyed her with his constant rewrites and blatant sexism. According to Monroe's biography, The Passion and the Paradox, Monroe, who had dubbed Miller a "peaceful monster" at the beginning of their marriage, claimed that the movie's most interesting roles had gone to its male stars. Add to that the fact that the pair were confined to the Nevada desert for months and Monroe's declining health, and it wasn't long before the couple divorced. 

  The Misfits turned out to be the last movie that Marilyn Monroe and Clark Gable ever filmed before their respective deaths. Gable died 12 days after filming completed; Monroe died one year after the film was released. Some critics say the actress' performance in the film was the finest of her career.

  When Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner began filming Daredevil in 2002, they were both in committed relationships. Affleck was one half of the mythic, doomed power couple Bennifer (with Jennifer Lopez), while Garner was married to Scott Foley. Despite neither party admitting to any actual on-set liaisons, Affleck did confirm that he and Garner fell in love while filming the superhero flick.

  "That’s where I found my wife," he said. "We met on Pearl Harbor, which people hate, but we fell in love on Daredevil."

  One year after Daredevil premiered in February 2003, Affleck ended his engagement to Lopez. Two months later, Garner divorced Foley. The two made their first public appearance at a Red Sox game in October 2004.

Branagh had been married to Emma Thompson for five years before production started, but apparently couldn't overcome his attraction to his Frankenstein costar Helena Bonham Carter. Thompson divorced Branagh shortly after news broke of his affair with Bonham Carter, and has since made peace with the actress:

She told The Telegraph, "The parading around, the lunches, the stress of being with Jim during the Titanic days - for years I could barely get make-up on, I was shaking so hard, because every award show we had was terrible."

  Though Hamilton says she was very much in love with her husband at the time, she recalls a lot of behind the scenes stress. Shortly after their divorce, Cameron married Amis, his fifth wife, and they are still together as of 2019.

  Years later, Jack, who was 8 year old at the time, opened up about the incident. He told Us Weekly, "It's kind of hard to ignore when you're at a grocery store and you're like, checking out and those magazines on the side [feature] a photo of [Ryan and Quaid] with a little paper rip thing. If they hadn't told me about the divorce, I would've been like 'What's that?' as a kid."  

  Jack remains close with both of his parents and Ryan and Crowe's romance appears to have been be short lived.

  Tori Spelling and Dean McDermott have been married since 2006, but they were both already wed when they met on set for the Lifetime TV movie Mind Over Murder less than a year before they eloped in Fiji. The pair spent the night together the day they met and never looked back. 

  McDermott has a son with his previous wife, and he and Spelling have had five kids together.
