Zootopia Furlife
[ranking: 1]
Furries really do change your perspective on everything. This has never been more true than when Zootopia was released. Disney has already been called out for inspiring an entire generation of furries by making their eponymous Robin Hood character an attractive, charming, charismatic fox.
And ever since the film came out, NSFW pictures of Zootopia characters have flooded the internet.
Dirty Disney Confessions
[ranking: 2]
There are no real words to describe the Dirty Disney Confessions tumblr. Be warned: if you visit this blog, you can't unsee it. DDC is a tumblr that features various "confessions" written as short-form desires next to screencaps of Disney characters they want to get down and "dirty" with. The tumblr goes on to feature a smattering of characters being ravaged in the bedroom, and sometimes, it's them that's doing the ravaging. You'll never see Disney characters in the same way again.
White Snow McCarthy
[ranking: 3]
An artsy rendition of Snow White hit New York's Art Frieze as they welcomed artist Paul McCarthy and his adult performance art version of Snow White and the Seven Dwarves. Titled simply "WS" (for "White Snow," which is both Snow White backwards, and an iron clad defense in court), the rendition of a childhood classic involves some very tawdry actions.
This might sound like something fun to play in a drinking game to with your friends, but it is extremely obnoxious.
The Disneyland Memorial Poster
[ranking: 4]
Okay, so this one ought to ruin your childhood: it's a depiction of a lusty "meet-up" of Disney characters. The illustration originated in a subversive political/social satire magazine called The Realist, which was edited and published by Paul Krassner. It started in 1958 and discontinued publication in 2001.
Krassner described how Disney reacted to seeing this poster: "The Disney corporation considered a lawsuit, but realized that The Realist was published on a proverbial shoestring, and besides, why bother causing themselves further public embarrassment?"
This was such a subversive act on the part of The Realist that individual acts of censorship snuck through the cracks as some Baltimore newspapers distributed the issue of the magazine with the image removed. Krassner secured some missing pages and offered to send them to any reader who'd ended up buying only a partial magazine.
Original Disneyland Costumes
[ranking: 5]
Something you can't really unsee is how disturbing the opening day Disneyland walkabout character costumes were. Most people know that in general, vintage costumes walk the weird line between scary-looking masks and a kind of uncanny valley that make the costumes eerie.
The original Mickey and Minnie Mouse costumes are the stuff of nightmares. The pair had these horrible holes on the undersides of their face, and just looking at them even in pictures is just jarring.
If you really want to be scarred, here's a whole gallery of terrifying walkabout costumes from the early days of Disneyland.
Alice In Wonderland 1976
[ranking: 6]
Alice in Wonderland, as an intellectual property, has faced probably the weirdest treatment of any Disney franchise ever. Of course, like most classic Disney franchises, the original story idea wasn't made up by anyone at Disney. The original book was written by Lewis Carroll, and was called Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. It deals in the "literary non-sense" genre. The imagery in the book inspired the animated 1955 version of Alice in Wonderland, and is one of the most well-known and beloved Disney movies in canon. That's the 1955 version.
The 1976 version, which you can find if you Google "Alice in Wonderland 1976," is something completely different. It is, in fact, a sensual version that takes the story in an entirely alternative direction.
Right-Wing Donald Duck
[ranking: 7]
The right-wing Donald Duck video is meant to be satirical. It's an eight-minute short best left in the archives of Disney history, even though it is meant - in a roundabout way - to be an expression of patriotism.
Finding Nemo Biology Lesson
[ranking: 8]
Of course, you're just looking for trouble if you're Googling "finding nemo sex." But the results aren't a bunch of slash fiction. Not exactly, at least. It's usually a biology lesson that you've already read on the internet by now.
It is a well-known fact that the mating practices of clownfish aren't really something that would fit into a Finding Nemo sequel. In real-life, clownfish are extremely gender-fluid. They are born hermaphroditic so that, in the absence of a female, the parent can change from female and then mate with their newborn spawn. Can you even imagine Disney trying to make a sequel movie about that?
Ariel Feet
[ranking: 9]
When you Google "Ariel feet," the vast majority of the first page is filled with celebrations of the moment where Ariel from The Little Mermaid discovers her feet for the first time. It seems pure and innocent, but you quickly realize that this search has taken on more "adult" meaning.
Mouse Mingle
[ranking: 10]
Have you heard of "Mouse Mingle?" It is exactly what you think it is. Here's their logline: "MouseMingle.com is the place to connect people who love Disney and who want that same magic in their relationship." And if you're wondering what else the site has to offer, they elaborate farther down the page: "MouseMingle.com is dedicated to Disney fans. Traditional Internet dating sites don't understand the passion people have for all things Disney. But we do."
