I really have no memory of this, but...

When I was five years old (spring 1981) my family was on vacation in Colorado. We were at a Budget car rental office in Denver while they were shooting a commercial. Apparently, I walked right up to the nice young actress girl and asked her to help me open my box of animal crackers.

Anyway, two or three years later my parents (never horror fans) see an Eddie Murphy comedy called Trading Places and say, "Hey! That's the girl from the car place that was so nice to Baby Kevin."

I took me like another 10 years to figure out I asked Jamie Leigh Curtis to open my Animal Crackers.

  • Doug Jones on Random Wonderfully Wholesome Stories That Prove Horror Icons Are Nicest People In Biz

    (#2) Doug Jones

    • Actor

Doug was the first celebrity I ever met and it was at the first convention I went to, so I was nervous.

I went with my best friend and he deals with anxiety, so cons are rough for him, but Jones is probably his favorite actor, so he braved it. We talked to him and joked around a bit, talked about him playing the Operator since we were into Marble Hornets at the time and the movie wasn't out yet.

He finally says bye to us and gets up to give us a hug and my buddy backs off and starts stuttering and says something like, "I've been real anxious and sweaty, I don't wanna ruin your suit."

Doug laughs and gets this big goofy smile, he says "Never change" and grabs hugs the sh*t out if him anyway. Was so sweet, I wish I'd have had a phone at the time to record the whole thing on.

  • Bruce Campbell on Random Wonderfully Wholesome Stories That Prove Horror Icons Are Nicest People In Biz

Bruce Campbell seems to really enjoy his fan interactions and he seems like a genuinely funny guy.

I met Bruce Campbell at Comic-Con, maybe a little less than 20 years ago now? (Yikes...)

I felt super cool when he called me “baby.” I waited to the side for my then-boyfriend to get his autograph. He called my boyfriend “baby” also. In fact, he called everyone "baby."

Rollercoaster of emotions, but still 10/10, good dude to fans.

Bruce Campbell complimented my beard and then on my ability to read.

Lance Henriksen bumped into me getting out of an elevator. I let slip a "Oh, sh*t" when I realized who it was. He was drunk as hell. He stopped and looked at me and my friend, gave us a thumbs up and said "Kick a**, boys."

  • Barbara Crampton on Random Wonderfully Wholesome Stories That Prove Horror Icons Are Nicest People In Biz

    (#17) Barbara Crampton

Barbara Crampton is the nicest celebrity I've ever met. She talked to me about my favorite movies, my job, all kinds of stuff. I got a little star struck 'cause she's so hot.

  • Clive Barker on Random Wonderfully Wholesome Stories That Prove Horror Icons Are Nicest People In Biz

    (#10) Clive Barker

Clive Barker (my personal favorite). I mentioned to him that Thief of Always was my daughter's favorite book (she was 10 at the time). He seemed really touched and drew an original piece of art in the battered paperback I presented to him. I'll never forget that.
