About This Tool
Each state of Australia has its own constitution and the government legislative, judicial and administrative organization, is an independent jurisdiction. The cantons may legislate without the consent of the federal parliament, except in the areas of customs duties, excise duties and defense, except where the cantonal law conflicts with the federal law. Areas covered by state legislation generally include education, health, roads, criminal law, and so on. This random tool contains 27 pieces of legislation that the government rewrote or amended in 1908.
Most of these laws are meant to re-regulate laws that were once imperfect.
