(#1) R2-D2 and C-3PO Show Up in Raiders of the Lost Ark
During the scene where Indy and Sallah lift a heavy stone slab to get to the Ark of the Covenant, you can clearly see C-3PO and R2-D2 drawn in hieroglyphics on the pillar to Indy's right (the viewer's left). Also, it's a little harder to spot, but when Indy and Sallah lift the Ark, you can faintly make out what looks like Princess Leia uploading the Death Star's plans - and her holographic message to Obi-Wan - into R2-D2 in more hieroglyphics on the wall behind them. -
(#3) E.T.'s Alien Species Can Be Seen in The Phantom Menace
Everyone remembers the character in Stephen Spielberg's E.T. dressed like Yoda on Halloween, but did you notice that George Lucas repaid the shoutout in Phantom Menace? At Spielberg's suggestion, Lucas included a new species called Asogians that definitely look like relatives of everyone's favorite extraterrestrial. -
(#4) 1138 Is the Code for DVD Easter Eggs
Electronic Labyrinth: THX 1138 4EB was one of George Lucas's earliest short films. He later expanded upon it to create the 1971 film, THX 1138. The number is used as an "in-joke" throughout many Lucasfilm Productions, and has even translated as a joke into other films and forms of media.
If you type in 1-1-3-8 on your remote while watching any of the Star Wars DVDs, you might be in for a surprise. In Revenge of the Sith, you can find a clip of Yoda breakdancing. In Attack of the Clones, the code takes you to a blooper real of Hayden Christensen falling down a lot on set. In Attack of the Clones, you can see Yoda and the Stormtroopers having a casual conversation, as if they're being caught off camera talking.

(#5) The Actor Who Played Boba Fett in the Original Trilogy Came Back as a Pilot in Revenge of the Sith
Jeremy Bulloch, the actor responsible for bringing Boba Fett to life in Star Wars IV, V, and VI, makes an appearance in Revenge of the Sith. He plays Captain Colton, the pilot of the Rebel Blockade Runner, Tantive IV. -
(#6) George Lucas Makes a Cameo in Revenge of the Sith
Yep, that's George Lucas under all that blue body paint! Lucas had a cameo as Baron Notiuwiski Papanoida, a Pantorian statesman who lived during the final years of the Galactic Republic. He based the character after himself; according to canon, Papanoida used to be a successful playwright who built an entertainment empire on his home planet, Pantora, that expanded into the far reaches of space. -
(#7) You Can See IG-88's Dismantled Body in the Incineration Room on Cloud City
IG-88 was an assassin droid, and the second best bounty hunter in the galaxy (after Boba Fett, of course). He was killed in a trap set by Boba Fett on Bespin, where IG-88 had followed him with the intent to kill him. Fett shot him with a cannon, and then blew him apart from the inside with IG-88's own concussion grenades. You can see the remnants of his body in the Incineration Room on Cloud City. -
(#9) The EVA Pod from 2001: A Space Oddyssey Can Be Spotted in Watto’s Junkyard
The EVA Pod from Stanley Kubrick's 2001: A Space Oddyssey can be seen in Watto's Junk Shop in The Phantom Menace. -
(#11) The Busts in the Jedi Archives Were Modeled After Members of the Star Wars Staff
Richard Miller designed the busts seen in the Jedi Archives in Attack of the Clones to look like various staff members. Director George Lucas, animator Rob Coleman, visual effects supervisors John Kroll and Pablo Herman, and model effects supervisor Brian Gernand were all models for Miller's bust designs. -
(#12) The Ark of the Covenant Has Alien Origins
The Book of Exodus described the Ark of the Covenant as a chest that housed the tablets on which the Ten Commandments were inscribed. In Steven Spielberg's Raiders of the Lost Ark, Indiana Jones is assigned to find and protect the Ark of the Covenant from the Nazis. According to the theory of ancient aliens/ancient astronauts, it is possible that extraterrestrial beings visited Earth long ago, leaving their mark in historic artifacts and cultural practices. The Ark is one of the historic artifacts thought to have extraterrestrial ties attached to it. This theory touched upon again, briefly, in the most recent Indiana Jones film, Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. Are aliens responsible for the markings on the Ark? Do they know where it is hidden? Could the Star Wars universe be attached to this somehow?

(#16) The Actor Who Played Boba Fett Is Also One of the Guards on Cloud City
In the scene where Leia, Chewie, and 3PO are being sold out and escorted away by Lando Calrissian, the guard that uses Leia as a human shield as she calls out to her brother, "Luke! Don't! It's a trap!" is actually Jeremy Bulloch again. -

(#20) Three of Jabba's Guards Are Named in an Homage to the Phrase "Klaatu Barada Nikto"
The phrase "Klaatu barada nikto" was first used in the 1951 sci-fi classic, The Day the Earth Stood Still. It was an alien phrase that roughly translated to "There's hope for the Earth, if scientists can be reached." In a nod to this, George Lucas references this in the names of the species of Jabba the Hutt's guards. One guard is an alien, descended from the Nikto species, two are from the Klaatu species, and the other is an alien named Barada.

(#26) Batman's Tumbler Can Be Found on the Millennium Falcon

(#30) Ben Burtt Is Responsible for Popularizing the Wilhelm Scream
The Wilhelm Scream, a popular screaming sound used in over 300 sci-fi and action/adventure movies, was popularized by Ben Burtt, the sound designed for the Star Wars films. He first used this stock scream in A New Hope, when a Stormtrooper falls off a ledge and into a chasm on the Death Star (although, technically, the Wilhelm Scream had already been used in several other films before this instance). It became an "in-joke" after that usage, and can now be heard in many George Lucas films, such as Raiders of the Lost Ark. -
(#31) The Hole In Luke's Hand Acquired In 'Return Of The Jedi' Is Still There In 'The Last Jedi'
In Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi, Luke and the rest of the team set out to rescue Han and Leia from Jabba the Hut. They ultimately end up fighting for their freedom over the Sarlacc pit against Boba Fett and the rest of Jabba's crew. To initiate their escape, Luke reaches for his lightsaber, resulting in his robotic hand being shot with a blaster.
In 2017's The Last Jedi, Rey returns Luke's lightsaber, and during the handoff, filmmakers reveal the blaster hole from the battle at the Sarlacc pit is still there.
