The Princess Switch is a holiday-set, grown-up take on The Parent Trap. Vanessa Hudgens, in a dual role, plays both a Chicago pastry chef and a duchess (of Belgravia, a fictional country). When chance throws the two women together, they decide to swap lives, which results in plenty of witty chaos.
It's a highly watchable romantic comedy with a Christmas theme and includes both silliness and pathos. The 2018 film also blends two popular Christmas romance themes: a small-town romance and a royal romance.

The Star is an enchanting 2017 animated film about a lovable little donkey named Bo who happens into the Greatest Story Ever Told: the birth of baby Jesus. It features a slew of fantastic celebrity voice performances, including Kelly Clarkson, Gina Rodriguez, Keegan-Michael Key, Kristin Chenoweth, Tracy Morgan, Mariah Carey - and Oprah as Deborah the camel.
The title song, performed by Carey, is also a stunner.

This one was originally made for the Hallmark Channel in 2011, which might tell you all you need to know. It's a well-trod storyline used in many a movie: a recently dumped woman hires a man to play her boyfriend for an upcoming visit with her family.
But what makes A Holiday Engagement so, well, engaging is the earnest performances of the two leads, Bonnie Somerville and Jordan Bridges; the supporting performances of two stars we don't see nearly enough, Shelley Long and Haylie Duff; and a couple of wonderful, truly surprising moments in the script.

If naysayers thought A Christmas Prince (part one) was so all-out awful, Netflix didn't get the memo, because they made a sequel for 2018. And A Christmas Prince: The Royal Wedding is just as much of a guilty pleasure as the first one.
The sequel continues the romance of Amber and Richard as they encounter snags on the road to the altar. If you think planning a wedding will tie you up in a knot, a royal wedding is fraught with even more drama (and comedy).

Originally made for the TV One network in 2017, Miss Me This Christmas is a harmless holiday diversion that ends up having a lot of heart. Regina (Erica Ash) and Franklin (Redaric Williams) are a married couple seemingly on the fast track to divorce court. But the appearance of a millionaire tech wiz who has eyes for Regina makes Franklin reevaluate where his relationship with his wife is headed.
Miss Me This Christmas sometimes takes itself a little too seriously, but that doesn't mean you have to do the same.

In the 2017 film A Christmas Prince, Amber is an American journalist sent to interview the crown prince of the fictional European country of Aldovia. Amber and Prince Richard end up crossing paths, delightful complications ensue, and as Christmas approaches, the sparks between them fly.
This isn't Dostoyevsky; it's harmless fun - and some say, "hilariously bad." In other words: absolutely perfect for holiday viewing.
