About This Tool

It is well known that the United States is an English-speaking country, however, the use of Spanish in the United States is increasing. In the 2000 census, demographers even predicted that a quarter of the U.S. population would be Hispanic by 2025. By 2050, it could be 1/3!

New Mexico has the largest Hispanic population, at 47 percent. Although studies have shown that they are the descendants of Spanish and Mexican immigrants from the region, most of these residents are from all over Latin America. The random tool divided New Mexico into four population categories, counted and generated the Hispanic population, 97 items. With almost half the population speaking Spanish, the government of New Mexico now has a bilingual education system.
