Tripura is one of the Northeast India states and its capital is Agartala. It is surrounded by Bangladesh to the north, west, south, and southeast. It has an area of 10,492 square kilometers and a population of 3.671 million. At present, the state’s main population is the Bengali people, which makes up the vast majority of the state’s population, mainly in the western and northern plains and towns. The Tripura was formed on March 12, 1989, after a long period of turmoil following its annexation by India. The National Liberation Front of Tripura advocated the independence of India from Tripura through armed struggle.
