About This Tool

According to a report on the website of Forbes on January 26, the average salary of the “big four” sports leagues, namely basketball, Football, hockey and baseball, shows that basketball ranks the highest while football ranks the bottom. Major League Baseball’s 2014 season revenues hit a record of $9 billion, according to the Major League Baseball Players Association. The average salary of major league baseball players rose 12.8 percent to $3.82 million, the biggest annual increase since the 2001 season. The average salary for the 2015 season is expected to top $4 million.
