  (#3) Korg

  • Planet Hulk

  Korg is a political idealist who, strangely, has an incredibly strong moral compass. After leading a failed political revolution, he is forced into gladiatorial clashes where he meets a down-on-his-luck Thor.

  He becomes one of Thor's "rocks" while dealing with the Hela situation in Thor: Ragnarok and even follows him to Earth after The Snap, settling in New Asgard. Korg is likely the reason Thor didn't off himself as a result of his depression and substance dependency following The Snap. Heroes are put on lonely pedestals, surrounded by few - if any - peers, and in the event they ever fall from grace, having someone like Korg to catch them is incredibly important.

  (#4) M'Baku

  M'Baku's sense of honor is top-notch, matched only by Steve Rogers and T'Challa. He's often looked at as a ruthless warrior, and his stern focus is what has kept the Jabari Tribe alive as long as it has.

  By honoring T'Challa's mercy from their trial by conflict, he facilitated the liberation of Wakanda from Erik Killmonger. Additionally, he committed the Jabari Tribe's forces to the defense of Wakanda, and eventually Earth, in the fight against Thanos.

  (#12) Darcy Lewis

  • Thor: The Dark World, Thor

  The patron saint of snark has been sorely missed in the latest installments of the MCU, and the potential to have her return alongside Jane Foster in Thor: Love and Thunder is almost too much to handle. Darcy Lewis offered something to the first two Thor movies that's missing from a lot of films that have characters who are literal gods: human reactions to dangerous situations. Darcy's interactions with Thor specifically allow the audience to humanize him, rather than idolize him as a golden god because Darcy does the exact opposite. 

  With the announcement of WandaVision, it was also announced that Darcy would be making an appearance as a series regular. Considering the series is set in the 1960s, it leaves a number of heads being scratched wondering if she will be some sort of nosy neighbor à la Gladys Kravitz from Bewitched.

  • The Avengers: Age of Ultron, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, The Avengers, Marvel Universe

  Maria Hill's willingness to serve the greater good and her loyalty to Nick Fury aren't talked about enough. A master spy and tactician, Hill has been a S.H.I.E.L.D. liaison and asset for the Avengers since The Avengers, and proven herself to be one of their strongest and most resourceful allies.

  Between her being Fury's right hand regarding sensitive missions and her skill as a field agent, as well as even handling the logistics of snuffing out secret HYDRA cells following the fall of S.H.I.E.L.D., Hill is a one-woman support system for Earth's Mightiest Heroes.

  (#8) Drax the Destroyer

  • Guardians of the Galaxy, Marvel Universe

  When Drax is introduced to audiences in the first Guardians of the Galaxy film, we learn about his beef with Thanos (slaying your wife and daughter will leave a mark). While Drax has about as much tact as a raccoon going through a dumpster, he really experiences the most growth out of the Guardians over the course of the three films where he actually speaks. In Guardians Vol. 1, his character is defined by his need for revenge, not wanting anything else or really caring about who got in his way. Then, in Guardians Vol. 2, we see him come out of his shell due to his interactions with Mantis and a more developed family/team dynamic with the other Guardians.

  When Avengers: Infinity War rolls around, we still see the same man who wants to avenge his wife and child, but after getting his butt firmly handed to him when the Guardians encountered him on Knowhere, he somehow - quietly - becomes rational. This is evidenced by his ability to remain collected when the team of heroes arrives on Titan to try to take the Infinity Gauntlet from Thanos but fail because of Peter Quill's hot temper.

  Drax is often written off as the comedic relief - the barbarian in the china shop - but he's learned how to process his past and handle his emotions incredibly well over just those three films.

  (#7) Edwin Jarvis

  • The Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes, Ultimate Avengers, Ultimate Avengers 2, Iron Man, Iron Man 2, The Avengers

  Right-hand man to Howard Stark, Edwin Jarvis can be credited as one of the least talked about and yet most important supporting characters in the MCU. Following World War II, Stark was accused of treason by the United States government, and he tasked Jarvis to seek out Peggy Carter to try and clear his name.

  The resulting deeds helped form and strengthen a bond between Stark and Carter, so much so that they went on to co-found S.H.I.E.L.D. Additionally, Jarvis is presumed to have taken on a large portion of Tony Stark's upbringing, helping him become the man he is today, inspiring the JARVIS program, which, thanks to the Mind Stone, evolved into The Vision.
