The Leptocerus species is a genus of the chlorella family of Chlorophyta. Unicellular algae that live alone and aggregate into colonies. They are widely distributed in nutrient-rich freshwater, saltwater, and soil. They are one of the indicator species of multiple pollution zones and α-medium pollution zones.
