  • Max Rockatansky on Random Fictional 'Last Person On Earth'

    (#1) Max Rockatansky

    • Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome, Mad Max 2, Mad Max, Mad Max: Fury Road

Where Everyone Went: They were either obliterated by nuclear war, murdered, died of thirst, or moved to the endless desert wasteland to try their luck.

What The World Is Like: Society has collapsed; marauding biker gangs rape and pillage, vigilantes take justice into their own hands, and basic services don't exist.

How Do They Spend Their Time: When Max isn't losing his mind with grief over the loss of his family, he's killing the aforementioned biker gangs and driving through the desert. Later, he fights a man in a giant dome.

Would You Want To Be Stuck With Them: Max doesn't seem like much fun to hang out with, despite being fun to watch. He doesn't talk a lot, and when he does, it tends to concern killing people.

Doomsday Chill Rating: You'll ride eternal, shiny, and chill.

  • Dr. Robert Neville on Random Fictional 'Last Person On Earth'

    (#2) Dr. Robert Neville

    • The Omega Man, I Am Legend

Where Everyone Went: Biological warfare between China and the Soviet Union wiped out a large portion of the world's population. Charlton Heston plays US Army Col. Robert Neville, MD, a man who injects himself with an experimental vaccine - making him immune to the contagion.

What The World Is Like: He essentially lives in an empty Los Angeles full of pseudo-vampires and people slowly turning into vampires.

How Do They Spend Their Time: Neville watches Woodstock in a theater a lot, steals clothing from a mall, lives in a penthouse, and drives whatever cars he wants.

Would You Want To Be Stuck With Them: If you're going to be stuck with someone in a post-apocalyptic wasteland, a doctor who knows how to kill vampires and work a projector is a lucky break.

    Doomsday Chill Rating: Incredibly chill.

  • Jim From '28 Days Later' on Random Fictional 'Last Person On Earth'

(#3) Jim From '28 Days Later'

Where Everyone Went: They were either ended by people infected with a rage virus, or infected by a rage virus and disposed of other people themselves.

What The World Is Like: England (and likely the rest of the world) is a horrible place where soldiers murder men that don't work with them and force women into sex servitude.

How Do They Spend Their Time: Driving through the countryside, gorging on sugary snacks, and avoiding raging monsters.

Would You Want To Be Stuck With Them: Jim seems nice enough, and he's adept at traversing the zombie-filled wasteland. But you'd have to deal with the rest of the world, and that's not great.

Doomsday Chill Rating: No chill, just rage.

  • The Mariner on Random Fictional 'Last Person On Earth'

    (#4) The Mariner

Where Everyone Went: Everyone either drowned or lives on floating barges, where they watch and take part in extreme stunt shows overseen by maniacs.

What The World Is Like: After the polar ice caps melt, the world gets covered in ocean - so learning to swim is imperative.

How Do They Spend Their Time: The Mariner drifts along the ocean, trades dirt, and drinks his own (purified) pee.

Would You Want To Be Stuck With Them: Depends how much you like hanging out with a guy who drinks his pee. For doomsday preppers, this is a model situation.

Doomsday Chill Rating: Less chill, because no more ice caps.

  • Phil Miller on Random Fictional 'Last Person On Earth'

    (#5) Phil Miller

    • The Last Man on Earth

Where Everyone Went: Most of the world's population died from a super virus that spread across the globe at some point before 2020.

What The World Is Like: Pretty much the same as right now, just with fewer people.

How Do They Spend Their Time: Phil Miller spends his days drinking, pulling minor shenanigans, trying to find more survivors, and attempting to repopulate the Earth after he discovers other people.

Would You Want To Be Stuck With Them: Phil is annoying, but his sense of mischief is strong. Plus, the rest of the world is pretty cool, so it might be worth sticking with him if you get to karate chop priceless heirlooms in the White House.

Doomsday Chill Factor: The most chill on Earth.

  • Ann Burden From 'Z For Zachariah' on Random Fictional 'Last Person On Earth'

(#6) Ann Burden From 'Z For Zachariah'

Where Everyone Went: A nuclear war followed by a series of nerve gas attacks wiped out most of the world's population.

What The World Is Like: Completely soaked with radiation. The only safe place is a small farm in a tiny valley with a self-contained weather system.

How Do They Spend Their Time: Ann Burden alternates between farming, hiding from a man in a radiation suit, nursing the man in the radiation suit back to health, and then hiding in a cave again.

Would You Want To Be Stuck With Them: Honestly, Burden seems fine. It's the creepy guy who shows up out of nowhere that makes this an inhospitable situation.

Doomsday Chill Rating: Deeply unchill, given all the sexual and religious tension on the farmstead.

  • Bruce Banner on Random Fictional 'Last Person On Earth'

    (#7) Bruce Banner

    • Hulk Vs, Ultimate Avengers, The Avengers: Age of Ultron, Ultimate Avengers 2, The Avengers, The Incredible Hulk

Where Everyone Went: In Hulk: The End, everyone on Earth except Bruce Banner/The Hulk died in a nuclear war.

What The World Is Like: A barren wasteland filled with mutated cockroaches and smoldering rubble - so not unlike New York City in the '70s.

How Do They Spend Their Time: Banner alternates between attempts to end it all and recording his feelings, Big Brother style, for an alien robot that hovers ten feet away from him at all times. Whenever Banner tries to off himself, though, he turns into the Hulk and starts smashing.

Would You Want To Be Stuck With Them: Bruce Banner is sullen and distant, and the Hulk is at his angriest in this story, so it's more or less the most terrifying version of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde imaginable.

Doomsday Chill Factor: You won't like him when he's chill.

  • Dr. Robert Morgan on Random Fictional 'Last Person On Earth'

    (#8) Dr. Robert Morgan

    • The Last Man on Earth

Where Everyone Went: Everyone except Robert Morgan has been infected with a super virus, turning them into vampires.

What The World Is Like: Essentially the same world in which we live, except no one is around during the day, and anybody you run into tries to kill you.

How Do They Spend Their Time: Morgan spends his days traipsing around the city, shoving stakes into the hearts of the infected, and trying to create a serum that cures vampirism.

Would You Want To Be Stuck With Them: That depends, do you want to ride around the city with Vincent Price killing vampires? What about that doesn't sound enjoyable?

Doomsday Chill Rating: His chill comes at a price.

  • George Taylor on Random Fictional 'Last Person On Earth'

    (#9) George Taylor

    • Beneath the Planet of the Apes, Planet of the Apes, Planet of the Apes

Where Everyone Went: Thanks to nuclear war, everyone is dead save for a race of highly advanced gorillas, chimpanzees, and orangutans. All living humans exist in a feral state, making George Taylor the last of his kind.

What The World Is Like: It's a planet of apes. Society mirrors ours, with structures similar to early human architecture. Oh, and the Statue of Liberty lies in shambles on a beach.

How Do They Spend Their Time: Taylor spends most of his time arguing with the apes, trying to make out with a chimpanzee, and then attempting to hook up with a feral human while escaping the apes.

Would You Want To Be Stuck With Them: Taylor probably isn't the best apocalypse partner. He's rude to people who help him and stirs the pot from the moment he arrives in the future. To be fair, he is under a lot of stress.

Damn Dirty Doomsday Chill Rating: Damn dirty chill.

  • Gilgamesh The Immortal From 'Gilgamesh The Immortal' on Random Fictional 'Last Person On Earth'

(#10) Gilgamesh The Immortal From 'Gilgamesh The Immortal'

Where Everyone Went: The entire human race, save for the immortal Gilgamesh, gets eradicated by an atomic blast after a nuclear power plant explodes.

What The World Is Like: An urban wasteland where Gilgamesh sulks around, wishing he was dead.

How Do They Spend Their Time: Gilgamesh decides to leave the planet in a spaceship with a box of human embryos to restart the human race. After accomplishing this on another planet, the new humans want to go back to Earth, and Gilgamesh comes along for the ride. Unfortunately, everyone but Gilgamesh dies in transit and he's once again alone on Earth.

Would You Want To Be Stuck With Them: Gilgamesh seems like a nice enough guy, what with the whole "restarting the human race thing," but everyone around him is always dying. It would be a soft pass, but a pass nonetheless.

Doomsday Chill Rating: You'd probably be dead, so not very chill at all.

  • Yorick Brown From 'Y: The Last Man' on Random Fictional 'Last Person On Earth'

(#11) Yorick Brown From 'Y: The Last Man'

Where Everyone Went: In 2002, everything with a Y chromosome mysteriously dropped dead. Lots of women then died from the series of disasters which followed almost half the population dying simultaneously.

What The World Is Like: Total chaos. Gangs are after Yorick, to kill or clone him. Many survivors are freaked out about the human race completely dying.

How Do They Spend Their Time: Yorick rolls around with a small group of military assassins assigned to keep him alive.

Would You Want To Be Stuck With Them: Yorick is a walking target for assassins, and anyone near him usually ends up dying. But he has a pet monkey.

Doomsday Chill Rating: Most men are dead, so probably pretty chill.

  • Zac Hobson From 'The Quiet Earth' on Random Fictional 'Last Person On Earth'

(#12) Zac Hobson From 'The Quiet Earth'

Where Everyone Went: Everyone is gone. They didn't vanish or explode, they're just gone.

What The World Is Like: Zac Hobson's world begins normally, sans people, but the physical properties of the Earth soon start to change. The sun's output alters and things get weird.

How Do They Spend Their Time: Initially, Hobson loses his mind, blows stuff up, and hangs out with cardboard cutouts. Then, he meets a mysterious couple and enters a love triangle that strains his mental capacity even further.

Would You Want To Be Stuck With Them: If you're one of the few people stuck in a slowly unraveling world with a crazy scientist, you have to assume you're in for something wacky. Also, Hobson will try to kill you if you get involved in a love triangle with him.

Doomsday Chill Rating: A quiet chill.

  • Henry Bemis From 'The Twilight Zone' Episode 'Time Enough At Last' on Random Fictional 'Last Person On Earth'

(#13) Henry Bemis From 'The Twilight Zone' Episode 'Time Enough At Last'

Where Everyone Went: Everyone except Henry Bemis perished in a nuclear war that escalated very quickly.

What The World Is Like: Bemis's world is one of endless rubble, but with a lot of books.

How Do They Spend Their Time: Bemis does nothing but read, until his glasses break.  Then, he sits around and complains about his broken glasses.

Would You Want To Be Stuck With Them: This guy seems annoying to be around. But if you like reading, you'd probably have plenty to discuss. And he probably has a vast personal library - assuming it survived the blast.

Doomsday Chill Rating: There's never enough chill.

  • Ralph Burton on Random Fictional 'Last Person On Earth'

    (#14) Ralph Burton

    • The World, the Flesh and the Devil

Where Everyone Went: An unnamed country used radioactive isotopes to create a dust cloud which spread globally, killing everyone over a five-day period.

What The World Is Like: An empty version of the regular world, but Ralph Burton figures out how to restore power to the city.

How Do They Spend Their Time: Burton regularly broadcasts over the radio, when he's not dealing with a love triangle.

Would You Want To Be Stuck With Them: Burton seems like a nice guy, but also a ball of stress. It probably has something to do with the whole radioactive isotope thing. Maybe he just needs to hang out with someone cool.

Doomsday Chill Factor: With a title like that, how can it not be chill?

  • Mike Ferris From 'The Twilight Zone' Episode 'Where Is Everybody?' on Random Fictional 'Last Person On Earth'

(#15) Mike Ferris From 'The Twilight Zone' Episode 'Where Is Everybody?'

Where Everyone Went: Where did everyone go? Was anyone ever in the world? Has Mike Ferris always been the only person on Earth, or is this a new thing?

What The World Is Like: A classic 1950s city, full of milkshakes and lots of mirrors.

How Do They Spend Their Time: Ferris drinks a milkshake, waxes poetic about being the only person in the world, and then completely loses his mind.

Would You Want To Be Stuck With Them: He's actively losing his mind, so no.

Doomsday Chill Rating: Virtually no chill.

  • Vic From 'A Boy And His Dog' on Random Fictional 'Last Person On Earth'

(#16) Vic From 'A Boy And His Dog'

Where Everyone Went: Nuclear war vaporized them.

What The World Is Like: The year is 2024, and the Southwestern United States is a wasteland dotted with crazy robots and marauding, mutated gangs.

How Do They Spend Their Time: Vic spends most of his time hanging out with his telepathic dog, being creepy, and looking for nourishment.

Would You Want To Be Stuck With Them: Even if Vic wasn't such a dirt bag, the world of A Boy and His Dog is a living nightmare that no one should endure.

Doomsday Chill Rating: Not chill at all.
