  (#16) When You Die, You Go to Summerland

  All religions have a "what happens when you die?" theory. For Wiccans, the belief is that their souls are headed straight to Summerland. There are many different visual interpretations of Summerland, from a grassy place with summer-like weather to an ethereal place filled with floating souls and energy. Regardless, Summerland is a neutral place where your soul goes to wait, either to be reincarnated or to remain there forever, guiding the new souls that arrive.

  (#13) X Marks the Spot

  There is a form of divination called dowsing in Wicca, and in order to practice it, you must have a divining rod. There are two types of rods to choose from: an L-shaped wooden rod or a Y-shaped metal rod. You say aloud what you are looking for - nearby spirits, for example - and focus all your energy on your search while holding the rod. The rods are said to bend on their own and point you in the right direction. If the Y-shaped rod points cross over each other to create an X, then you have found what you are looking for!

  (#4) The Pentagram Isn't Evil - but It Is Powerful

  Far from summoning satanic forces, as some rumors claim, the pentagram has a positive spiritual significance for Wicca. Each point of the star represents the five elements: Earth, Air, Fire, Water, and Spirit. The pentagram was also used as a symbol in the earliest days of Christianity, representing the five wounds of Christ.

  (#3) Brooms Are Not for Flying

  Sorry, Harry Potter fans - flying on broomsticks isn't really a thing. Brooms do have an interesting symbolism for witches, however - they're commonly used to sweep away negative energy from the circular area where Wiccan rituals are performed. A broom is also used in hand-fasting ceremonies, a form of marriage ceremonies where couples participate in "jumping the broom" together.

  (#9) Witches Use a Sacred Stone to Reveal Your Secrets

  Witches claim to have discovered a real, organic "truth serum." It is believed that if you place a quirin stone under someone's pillow, they will talk in their sleep and confess their "rogueries." Unfortunately, these stones are very rare, and can only be found in the nests of the lapwing or the hoopoe - two Old World birds only located in Europe, Asia, and Africa.

  (#8) Witches Worship Naked

  Skyclad is a Wiccan ritual created by English Wiccan Gerald Gardner, "the father of modern witchcraft." In a skyclad ceremony, witches are traditionally naked, though this practice isn't as common nowadays. The reason to shed clothing is to help a witch become more comfortable in their own body, to abolish rank amongst the worshippers, and to eliminate all secular things from the magic being created.

  It's not a huge orgy, if that's what you're thinking - participants are very respectful of other witches' boundaries, and they try to make sure everyone is as comfortable as possible.
