  • A Family Of Hillbilly Hulks on Random Craziest Moments From Old Man Logan Comic That Weren't In The Movie

(#1) A Family Of Hillbilly Hulks

Logan faces many antagonists in Old Man Logan, but perhaps none are as disturbing as the Hulk family. These hillbilly descendants of Bruce Banner are the incestuous result of the Hulk banging his cousin, She-Hulk, and are representative of the worst aspects of the jade giant.

The Hulks act as pseudo-landlords to Wolverine, demanding payment for living in their territory, and their threats against his family act as the impetus for his quest. Unfortunately, the Hulk’s rights are owned by Marvel Studios, so nothing like this will appear in the movie.

  • President Red Skull on Random Craziest Moments From Old Man Logan Comic That Weren't In The Movie

    (#2) President Red Skull

The climax of Old Man Logan features a trip to the new capital of the United States, a nation that has been completely conquered by villains. The new President of the United States, former Captain America rival Red Skull, rules with an iron fist (not that Iron Fist, though, he's probably dead).

An inevitable battle between Wolverine and Red Skull ensues, but unfortunately it won’t be seen in 2017’s Logan. Not only are Red Skull’s rights held by Marvel Studios, he also hasn’t appeared since Phase One, as he was blasted away by the Tesseract. But seriously, how cool would it have been to see Hugh Jackman and Hugo Weaving throw down?

  • The New Map Of The USA on Random Craziest Moments From Old Man Logan Comic That Weren't In The Movie

(#3) The New Map Of The USA

One of the coolest features of the road trip Wolverine takes across the future America in Old Man Logan is the updated  map that guides him along the way. Readers get a glimpse of the map, which is full of tantalizing clues and potential settings. Sadly, this map is also full of mentions of characters that Fox does not own the rights to, like the Kingpin, the Kree, and Norman Osborn. Some of the mentioned names, like Doctor Doom and Magneto, could conceivably appear, but it's likely the idea will be scrapped altogether.

  • A Symbiote T-Rex on Random Craziest Moments From Old Man Logan Comic That Weren't In The Movie

    (#4) A Symbiote T-Rex

Perhaps the most iconic and memorable visual from Old Man Logan is a symbiote-enhanced tyrannosaurus rex chasing down Wolverine’s jeep. Because, come on, that's one of the most awesome sentences ever written. It seems that not only were some carnivorous dinosaurs transported from the Savage Land to America at some point in the past, but also that Venom’s symbiote became attached to one, too.

This spectacular moment would look great on a theater screen, but the rights to the symbiote are tied to Spider-Man, whose rights in turn are now back at Marvel Studios. Regular T-Rexes could still appear, theoretically, but it’s just not the same.

  • Blind, Ponytailed Hawkeye on Random Craziest Moments From Old Man Logan Comic That Weren't In The Movie

    (#5) Blind, Ponytailed Hawkeye

It looks like Logan will have a few allies in his 2017 film, but they won’t include his stalwart sidekick from Old Man Logan. Accompanying him on his road trip is Clint Barton, AKA Hawkeye, who is blind and rocking a white ponytail in this continuity.

Despite his disability, Barton’s aim is as true as ever, and he even drives for a large portion of the journey. However, as everyone knows, Hawkeye is an Avenger, and they belong to Marvel Studios. Hawkeye’s role may be played by Professor Xavier, but come on. That's so much less cool.

  • The New Spider-Girl on Random Craziest Moments From Old Man Logan Comic That Weren't In The Movie

    (#6) The New Spider-Girl

Logan’s sidekick, blind Hawkeye, has his own subplot going on throughout Old Man Logan. Chief among his motivations is a mission to rescue his daughter, who has taken on the mantle of Spider-Girl. Hawkeye fathered her with the original Spider-Man’s own daughter, which is pretty gross when you think about it. Like, that's a serious age gap.

Anyway, Hawkeye convinces Logan to help out his rescue attempt, and while they don’t exactly go as planned, they also won’t be appearing at all in the 2017 film. With Spider-Man’s rights securely back at Marvel, all Spider-People are off the table.

  • Pym Cross on Random Craziest Moments From Old Man Logan Comic That Weren't In The Movie

    (#7) Pym Cross

The post-apocalyptic America glimpsed in Old Man Logan is definitely one of the story's most haunting features. We never really learn what happened. The landscape is peppered with Easter Eggs that only hint at the gruesome past that led to this future, and further evidence that the villains have won an all-encompassing victory.

One of the most striking visual examples of this is Giant-Man’s skeleton, which was stuck in gigantic form when Hank Pym was killed in action. The skeleton has a highway system built into and around it known as Pym Cross. While Hank Pym isn’t even Giant-Man (or the current Ant-Man, for that matter) in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Fox still has no claim to his rights.

  • Hammer Falls on Random Craziest Moments From Old Man Logan Comic That Weren't In The Movie

    (#8) Hammer Falls

There are several landmarks that define the setting of Old Man Logan, each a reminder that the heroes lost and the villains won in this world. The forebodingly named Hammer Falls is a pit stop on Wolverine and Hawkeye’s road trip across the USA, and is so-named because it’s the scene of Thor’s death.

His famous hammer, Mjolnir, was dropped there, and has remained ever since. And no, Wolverine doesn’t try to lift it. Marvel Studios owns the rights to Thor and by extension all of his Asgardian possessions. So, don't expect any hot Hemsworthy action to lighten up Logan

  • Man-Eating Moloids on Random Craziest Moments From Old Man Logan Comic That Weren't In The Movie

    (#9) Man-Eating Moloids

Wolverine and Hawkeye can’t find a city that appears on their map, but soon discover that the entire place has been submerged by subterranean creatures. Creepy, yellow Moloids are the culprits, and the usual companions of old school Fantastic Four villain Mole Man.

Terrifyingly, the Moloids have begun feasting on the humans that they've trapped underground. While a version of Mole Man has appeared in a Fantastic Four film, thus placing his rights firmly at Fpx, there is still no way they’re putting cannibalistic mole people into this movie. It just doesn't seem very... on message.

  • Mysterio's Role on Random Craziest Moments From Old Man Logan Comic That Weren't In The Movie

    (#10) Mysterio's Role

There’s a huge twist regarding Wolverine’s past in Old Man Logan, and there’s a good chance something similar happens in 2017’s Logan, so let’s avoid spoilers here. Without saying too much, Spider-Man villain Mysterio plays a major role in the comic book version, using his illusory powers.

Even if something similar occurs in the movie, it certainly won’t include Mysterio, as his rights are tied to Spider-Man’s, and thus back at Marvel Studios. Fans over there are still waiting for the character’s big screen debut, but they'll just have to wait a little longer.

  • Red Skull's Trophy Room on Random Craziest Moments From Old Man Logan Comic That Weren't In The Movie

    (#11) Red Skull's Trophy Room

There is no better indicator of just how bad things have gotten in the Old Man Logan universe than the trophy room of the Red Skull. Red Skull, remember, is also serving as President of the USA. The Skull, who also happens to walk around in Captain America’s bloodied costume (no way that's sexual), has glass cases with souvenirs from the deaths of countless heroes, including Iron Man, Spider-Man, and even Doctor Strange.

Perhaps most disconcerting is the presence of one of The Thing’s hands. Like, how exactly did those get there? This dark display of depravity is a shocking visual, but to replicate it in Logan the trophies would have to be limited to just X-Men or Fantastic Four items (that have been shown in a Fox film), and it couldn’t be owned by the Red Skull. So, you know, not the same thing at all.

  • Giant Loki Bones on Random Craziest Moments From Old Man Logan Comic That Weren't In The Movie

    (#12) Giant Loki Bones

Hank Pym’s giant skeleton isn’t the only big set of bones lying around in Old Man Logan. While driving through New York, Wolverine spots the Baxter Building (former home of the Fantastic Four) collapsed on top of a mysteriously gigantic Loki skeleton. It appears that Loki embiggened himself in an attempt to take down the FF, and somehow got a skyscraper dropped on himself in the process.

This is proof that not every villain was successful in their bid to overwhelm the heroes of Earth, and it also means one less territorial rival for Kingpin, Red Skull, et al. Of course, Loki’s rights are still held by Marvel Studios, and he’s expected to play a large role in 2017’s Thor: Ragnarok.

  • Captain America's Shield on Random Craziest Moments From Old Man Logan Comic That Weren't In The Movie

    (#13) Captain America's Shield

Without giving away the ending, Wolverine finishes Old Man Logan by using Captain America’s shield in a memorable and creative fashion. The iconography of Logan using his fallen ally’s famous symbol is magnificent, but of course not at all possible for Fox to use. Marvel Studios would pitch an absolute fit if Logan featured the use of any circular shield, much less one emblazoned with the stars and stripes. Maybe Logan can use a door from the Fantasticar instead. Because that's just as good.
