  The Subaru/Scion twins are probably best thought of as Mazda Miatas with a roof. There's something to be said for a concept that uses deliberately grip-less tires, specifically to make drifting the car easier and more fun. Yes, you could bolt a set of slicks to the thing to set autocross lap times, but that is kind of missing the point.

  If you really enjoy punching robots in the face, you'd be hard pressed to find a better ride than the manual-transmission, diesel Ram HD. Yes, it sucks on gas and it's impossible to park in a single space, but as truck driver dreams go, this one will definitely punch a new hole in your man card.

  As Porsche's long-time corporate cousin, Volkswagen's always going to make a list of manual transmission cars. They don't offer a manual on all their vehicles the way Porsche does, but they do for most. I picked the Jetta, because (despite VW's recent publicity issues) the diesel is still pretty fantastic in terms of mileage, cost, and emissions. It's just not as good as VW claimed without urea injection. If the Jetta or the diesel aren't to your taste, VW offers stick on most of their other products.

  The new Miata is one spectacular car, and many journalists are already calling it the greatest driver's car of all time. Considerably more butch than its predecessor, the Miata is finally shedding some of its hair salon image and finding fans among younger males who wouldn't be caught dead standing next to one before. Of course it's got a stick. It's still a Miata, after all.

  You'd kind of expect a car so often referred to as the "four-door Corvette" to offer a manual, and the old-school hot rod CTS-V doesn't disappoint. It's six-speed transmission is far from old-school, though. The current generation CTS-V uses a Tremec T6060, shared with the C6 Corvette, previous generation Dodge Viper, and current Camaro SS.

  If you can't find the joy in whipping a tiny, peppy, stick-shift compact around town, then just give up on life. You're dead inside. Honda's Fit certainly isn't quite a Lamborghini. It's not even a Civic. But it is everything the Civic used to be, before it got old and fat. Say what you will about kids these days, but only the most jaded could deny the dumb-puppy appeal of this stick-shift city scooter.
