  Tamaki Amajiki can activate his quirk, Manifest, whenever he wants - but its strength and its nature depends on what he's eaten recently. While a food remains in his system, he can manifest the attitributes of whatever he ate in his body. So, for example, if he eats takoyaki, he can sprout octopus tentacles, and when he eats chicken he can grow wings.

  As long as he's capable of disgesting something, he can manifest its traits, but the effects only last until the digestion process is complete.

  All cursed members of the Sohma family transform into an animal when hugged by a member of the opposite sex. While this is a bizarre trigger, transforming into an animal doesn't necessarily make you more powerful - depending on the animal, it may make you less so.

  But in addition to his regular cat transformation, Kyo also turns into a horrible decaying monster that has the power to slap a person clear off a cliff. The trigger for this is losing a string of prayer beads that he always wears around his wrist. Realistically speaking, he'd be transforming a lot more often than he actually does just by rolling over on his wrist in his sleep.

  Akiko Yosano's power, Thou Shalt Not Die, seems like a standard issue healing ability - that is, until you hear what's required to activate it. She can't heal anybody unless their injuries are so severe that they're potentially fatal. To circumvent this, she beats the living hell out of whoever she wants to help. Consequently, many prefer to let their wounds heal on their own time.

  (#11) The Qwasers Get Their Power From Soma In 'The Qwaser Of Stigmata'

  Y'all knew this was coming. The Qwaser of Stigmata is one of the most notoriously weird shows in the history of anime, for exactly the reason that it's on this list.

  Qwasers control a particular element, such as copper, oxygen, iron, or anything else on the periodic table. To activate their powers, they have to drink something called Soma. Soma is taken from women's breasts, and it's a mixture of both breast milk and her soul. Taking too much can prove fatal, since it's, y'know, literally draining her soul.

  Why does anybody sign up for this? Because apparently, the process is immensely pleasurable. Also because of saving the world and whatever, but that is clearly not the point of this show.

  While many teenage boys wouldn't have any problem with catching a glimpse of a girl's panties, Yuta Iridatsu needs to scrupulously avoid such a sight. That's because if he sees a pair of panties, he becomes so inundated with raw power that he could potentially destroy the planet. In fact, the first time this happens to him, he actually becomes seperated from his body due to the intensity of his power.

  Bertha can control the resonance of sound. Every object and living thing has a particular sound frequency. Bertha can launch a matching frequency at whatever she chooses, causing it to be desroyed. She can even do this with human organs, thus ending the person's life. 

  In order to activate her powers, Bertha has to eat something and then vomit it back up. While she could technically use just about anything, she chooses to eat cigarettes. Why? Because her daughter passed away from eating a cigarette she left out, and she's punishing herself.
