Whether or not people who are guilty of horrific crimes like murder and sexual assault deserve to be taken out via the Death Note is up for debate, but those aren't the only kinds of crimes that Mikami doles out punishment for. Minor crimes like parking violations, jaywalking, and littering are reason enough for Mikami to write down a name.
Light Yagami doesn't personally eliminate people who commit minor crimes like this, but he doesn't stop Mikami from doing so, either.

Hell Girl is an anime where people type the name of a person who wronged them into a magical website, and that person is immediately taken to Hell. The catch is that whoever typed the name will also go to Hell at the end of their natural lifespan.
Sometimes, the people who meet this fate are deserving, but sometimes they very much are not. Tetsurou Negoro is one of those people. He's bad with money and not the best boyfriend, but that's not why his name is written down. It's because he accidentally scratched somebody's car and then spilled coffee on him. Worth getting annoyed at, sure - worth sending someone to Hell and condemning yourself to Hell? Absolutely not.

(#15) Amiba Destroys Toki's Reputation Over A Slap In 'Fist Of The North Star'
Nobody likes getting slapped, but a normal reaction doesn't go much further than a retaliatory hit. Amiba does not have a normal reaction. When Toki slaps him on the face by mistake, he responds by getting plastic surgery so that he looks like him, then committing heinous experiments on innocent people in his name, thus totally destroying his reputation.
There is nothing you could do to someone's face to deserve something so creepy - and none of those experiment victims had a thing to do with it.

Alois Trancy is known for being spoiled and capricious, and he proves it in the first episode he appears in by stabbing a maid in the eye with two of his fingers. Why did he do such a thing? Because she looked directly at him, which was insulting to him as her master.
The rest of the servants have to clean up the blood, all while internally freaking out about having to work for this kid.

Oldboy is a 1996 manga that follows a man named Shinichi Gotou's journey to figure out why he was kidnapped and held in solitary confinement for ten years. At the end of the manga, the reason is finally revealed - and it's unimaginably petty.
The man who locked Shinichi up, Takaaki Kakinuma, was one of his elementary school classmates. When they were going to school together, Shinichi heard Takaaki singing, and was moved to tears. Takaaki interpreted this as Shinichi intuiting how lonely he was - and he couldn't stand to see those emotions reflected back at him.
This apparently destroyed his ability to lead a normal life, which led him to seek revenge on Shinichi. Maybe Takaaki should have tried therapy instead.

Beerus is the God of Destruction, so it's only natural that he's going to, well, destroy things. That being said, the reasons he cites are pretty ridiculous. One time, he blows up half a planet because he didn't enjoy their greasy food, and he gets into a potentially world-ending battle over pudding. Even worse, during his first visit to Earth, he eliminated dinosaurs as a species because he thought they were rude. God of Destruction or not, that's pretty intense.
