About This Tool

Built-in 1872, the South Devon Railway is a seven-mile extension of the former Great Western Railway, passing through a charming valley that is a historic site of steam engine trains in Britain. A later merger with Great Western Railway created a whole new history of British Railways. The tool generates information about 19 Locomotives that have been in orbit, mostly in the mid to late 19th century.

South Devon Railway allows visitors to travel back in time to the 19th century on a spectacular heritage steam train. There are also three nearby attractions to visit: Totnes’s rare animal farm, Dartmoor Otter Farm and the famous Buckfast Abbey. When you randomly look at the details of each Locomotives, you can find their shifts, numbers, Wheel arrangement, builder, build time and run time, etc. The names of the engineers who built the omotives are also visible in the generator tool.
