About This Tool

The UK is also talking about a harmonious society, with some songs banned by the BBC for one reason or another over the past 75 years, including Beatles songs. Sometimes it’s a sensitive word, sometimes it’s a banned album that makes it to the top of the NO1 charts. If you’re curious, check out this random tool selection of 221 songs that have been banned by the BBC from being played.

The songs themselves are apolitical. But because listeners tend to misinterpret some of the lyrics, sometimes the songs stored in the generator are inexplicably condemned as not allowed to be played. At the same time, if you include sensitive words, or songs that the government finds pessimistic or world-weary, they can not be played or sold on the open market.

Click the "Display All Items" button and you will get a list of songs banned by the BBC.
