About This Tool

The former Soviet Union had three major shipbuilding bases: Nikolayev on the Black Sea coast of Ukraine, St. Petersburg on the Baltic Sea coast of Russia, and the city of Nordwensk on the Arctic Ocean. These three cities are nearly complete with some of the earliest and best quality shipyards in the Soviet Union. Later, as the war increased the demand for ships, several other Soviet cities also began to build shipyards, which could take on different types and numbers of ships.

This random tool collates information on 31 shipyards built in the Soviet Union during the decades 1922-1991. The list is also available from the generator. Most of these shipyards are set up in Bay ports or alongside rivers for ease of commissioning and launching. Many of the ships that were built during this period were used to great effect in various wars.

Click the "Display All Items" button and you will get a list of shipyards of the Soviet Union.
