In the Isles of Scilly, a sunken ship laden with gold has just been salvaged by scientists. The abundance of its gold reserves surprised all traders. The wreck is believed to be the 17th century HMS Royal merchant, which sank to the bottom of the sea after being shipwrecked in Isles of Scilly waters. There have been so many wrecks like this in history, that only one percent of the number we’ve found so far. The random tool also collates information on 130 shipwrecks salvaged from Isles of Scilly for those who are interested to check further.

Many tons of gold, silver and jewelry, as well as representative works of the time, calligraphy, painting, porcelain and antiques, have been found in the sunken ship.
