About This Tool

After the 1979 Islamic Revolution, Iran adopted a theocratic system of government, and the 1979 Constitution created the post of Supreme Leader. The supreme leader is the political and religious ruler of the country. The constitution stipulates that the power of the supreme leader can not be changed. In 1989, the constitution was amended to remove the position of Prime Minister as Cabinet leader and transfer power to the country’s president, who became the second most powerful person in Iran after the supreme leader. So far, a total of 23 rulers have appeared in Iran, recorded in this random tool.

These rulers have witnessed Iran at different times, and they have helped to promote and change Iran in all aspects of politics, economy, diplomacy and military affairs.
