About This Tool

Futa Toro is a semi-desert region near the middle reaches of the Senegal River, on the border between Senegal and Mauritania. The tribes close to the river are well watered and fertile, but the areas away from the river are porous, dry and barren. The area is of historic importance to the Islamic theocracy, the Fulani region, the mujahideen and the settlers of Fouta Djallon. The region, too, was once an independent state, with a total of seven good rulers.

These rulers were mainly active in the 19th century, and the earliest rulers were Muslim leaders known as ALMAAMI. It was the first Muslim Fouras dynasty. In 1776, it overthrew the pagan Denianke dynasty of the Grand Lucian Empire. In the random tool generator, you can see in detail how long each monarch has served and what dynasties they have lived through.
