About This Tool

The Victoria Cross is Britain’s highest medal of Honour, awarded by 1856 at the request of her husband, Albert, Prince Consort, for acts of Crimean War Bravery. It can be given to any officer in the army, at any rank, and to civilians under military orders. In Britain, it is usually presented by the king or Queen in person at Buckingham Palace to the recipient or his immediate family. In other Commonwealth countries, it is issued by the governor. There’s a list of 37 Royal Engineers who have been awarded the cross in history, recorded in this random tool.

These royal engineers have shown bravery and competence in many situations where they have faced their enemies. The award of the Cross, in the honor system of Britain and many Commonwealth countries, is the highest honor a soldier can receive in combat. You can use the generator to see their names, dates of issue, wars they fought, and places they were.

Click the "Display All Items" button and you will get a list of Royal Engineers recipients of the Victoria Cross.
