In 1998, Adam Sandler joined forces with Drew Barrymore in The Wedding Singer. The two clicked on-screen, which prompted them to team up again for the 2004 film, 50 First Dates. Their second cinematic outing caught the attention of both hopeless romantics and Sandler fans, in part due to its equal balance of sweetness and ridiculousness.

After a decade apart, the duo did it again in 2014 when they starred in the film Blended, in which two families come together. Once again, Sandler's buffoonery combines with Barrymore's charm for a film that blends affectionate, romantic comedy with slapstick absurdity.

Almost everyone remembers the 2003 romantic comedy How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days. In the film, Matthew McConaughey and Kate Hudson play career-focused romantics; Hudson's character is writing an article that details ways to quickly lose a guy, and McConaughey's character is on the hunt to prove that he can make any woman fall in love with him.

In the 2008 film Fool's Gold, the duo reunites. This time, the story follows a recently divorced couple who rekindle their relationship while searching for buried treasure. While Fool's Gold didn't get the same warm reception that How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days received, the movie still exemplifies McConaughey's hapless charm butting heads with Hudson's reserved grace.
