About This Tool

The Regional Snow Index (RSI) is a system NOAA uses to assess the social impact of winter storms in the United States. The storm is on a scale of one to five. The former is classified as “Outstanding”and the latter as “Extreme”. The storm’s impact was assessed in six different areas of the United States: the northeast, North Rocky Mountains and plains, the Ohio Valley, and upper regions of the south, southeast, and Midwest. Once the storm reaches Category 5, people in the area need to take safety precautions and severe areas may be moved to safety.

A total of 26 Category 5 storms in the history of the United States are recorded in this random tool. You can also see through the generator when these category 5 storms occurred, the specific date, the largest RSI index, the location of the occurrence of important information. The compilation of this list is of great value to meteorologists and environmentalists.

Click the "Display All Items" button and you will get a list of Regional Snowfall Index Category 5 winter storms.
