(#14) Eric James Brindley Nicolson
On August 16, 1940, Nicolson was part of an attack against German bombers that were trying to blow Britain into the next century. After being almost shot down, set on fire, and blinded by the blood pouring from his forehead, he gave fiery chase to a German plane, and shot it down. It was only then that he ejected from the plane and after a brief stint in the hospital WENT BACK TO GIVING JERRY HECK! -
(#6) Michael J. Fitzmaurice
A specialist fourth class in the US Army, he'd just returned from guard duty and was settling in to his bunker when the base came under heavy artillery and mortar fire. As his base was being blown to bits by Vietnamese Suicide Bombers, three grenades landed in his bunker. He grabbed two of the grenades and tossed them back outside, and jumped on the third one and covered it with his flak jacket. Suffering only partial blindness and deafness, he took out the rage of still being alive by beating the Vietnamese to death with his bare hands. -
