Queen’s University Belfast, also known as the Queen’s University, is a world class university located in Belfast, the capital of Northern Ireland, as well as the research university. Founded by Queen Victoria in 1845, it boasts the best medical and engineering schools in Britain and Ireland, as well as business and management schools. There have been many outstanding graduates, they have made amazing achievements in all walks of life.
The Queen’s University Belfast conferred an honorary degree on former British Prime Minister Dr. Churchill in 1926 and an honorary degree on Irish President McAleese in 1972. In 2008, South African President Mandela was awarded a 100 year honorary degree. Former US President Clinton and his wife Hillary Clinton also received honorary doctorates from Queen’s University.
