About This Tool

Some say that without Olmstead, the United States would not be what it is today. Such accolades come from the works and theories of Design in Olmstead that have had an important impact on landscape design that, years later, can not be surpassed or replicated. He was one of the most famous American planners and landscape architects of the second half of the 19th century, leading the American Urban Parks Movement, known as the father of American landscape design.

The existing Seattle Parks and recreation system has been described as “one of the best-preserved Olmsted Park Systems in the United States”. The concept of landscape design in Olmstead is strongly influenced by the rural and rural landscape of the country, as can be seen in the 18 parks that were created by the random tool. Using the generator, we can learn that the parks were built at different times, first in 1903, and are still well preserved today, and added to the National Register of Historic Places.
