  • Heal - Chiyo Shuzenji on Random Most Underrated Quirks From 'My Hero Academia'

    (#1) Heal - Chiyo Shuzenji

Chiyo, the school nurse at UA High School, has a quirk that's easy to overlook, but is actually essential if the whole school isn't going to end up dead. Her quirk, Heal, engages a target's immune system to help them heal rapidly from injuries that might otherwise take months to recover from, or might never heal at all.

The only drawback is how it works. She essentially uses the body's own resources to heal the injury. If the target person isn't strong enough to withstand the healing process, it might need to be spread out over multiple sessions. Still, Chiyo's abilities are the reason Izuku makes it past breaking his arms the first time he uses his quirk.

Without her, he would miss months of hero training while recovering.

  • Foldabody - Edgeshot on Random Most Underrated Quirks From 'My Hero Academia'

    (#2) Foldabody - Edgeshot

Foldabody is a quirk that allows its user to manipulate their own flesh with precision. Edgeshot is able to make his body extremely thin or unbelievably sharp. This allows him to slip through small cracks, granting him access to any location he wants. It also allows him to use his own body as a knife or a sword.

What's more, he can make these changes faster than the speed of sound. No wonder he's the fourth most powerful hero.

  • Compress - Atsuhiro Sako on Random Most Underrated Quirks From 'My Hero Academia'

    (#3) Compress - Atsuhiro Sako

Atsuhiro Sako is only seen using his quirk, Compress, for a singular purpose: compressing Bakugo into a tiny marble shape so he can easily kidnap him, while ensuring he remains unharmed. While this is undoubtedly useful for his villainous purposes, it's also great for things like carrying heavy weaponry, or unconscious or injured comrades.

Outside of fighting, it's great for carrying heavy objects. With Compress, one could technically carry the entire contents of their house in a single bag, making moving a breeze.

  • Glamour - Camie Utsushimi on Random Most Underrated Quirks From 'My Hero Academia'

    (#4) Glamour - Camie Utsushimi

You might not expect a quirk called Glamour to do what Camie's quirk does, but its functionality is kind of incredible. She can create large and small-scale illusions. She could, for example, trick an opponent into thinking their environment is different than it actually is and use their confusion to sneak up on them.

Outside of battle, Camie's quirk has virtually unlimited utility. She could create A+ presentations in her history class, or make alternate endings to her favorite TV shows.

  • Confession - Shin Nemoto on Random Most Underrated Quirks From 'My Hero Academia'

    (#5) Confession - Shin Nemoto

Using Confession, Shin Nemoto can force anyone he touches to answer a question truthfully. He uses this to learn about the motives and secrets of both his enemies and his allies. This helps him determine how to defeat his foes, psychologically torment them as he deems necessary, and gather information from them, while ascertaining who he can trust.

It's an impressive ability to definitively prove key information without the need for deduction or guesswork.

  • Earphone Jack - Kyoka Jiro on Random Most Underrated Quirks From 'My Hero Academia'

(#6) Earphone Jack - Kyoka Jiro

Earphone Jack is a unique quirk that allows Jiro to use protrusions from her ears as hearing devices (or more colloquially, earphone jacks). She can use these to plug into any solid object, amplifying sound so she can hear what’s going on in places she might otherwise be excluded from.

This saves her a bundle of money on headphones, and it also makes her one of the best spies in the My Hero Academia universe. Jiro doesn’t have to be in the same room as the person she’s listening in on, which means she can stay safe while undercover. What’s more, she can wield her earphone jacks as electrified whips, making them a powerful offensive tool.

  • Anivoice - Koji Koda on Random Most Underrated Quirks From 'My Hero Academia'

    (#7) Anivoice - Koji Koda

Imagine being able to communicate with animals, but also having the power to convince them to do your bidding. Used to its fullest potential, Koji Koda’s Anivoice could be used for everything from making animal friends to getting bears to maul villains for him.

Koji himself is a bit too gentle for the latter – he might prefer coaxing a swarm of pigeons to coat an enemy in poop to something lethal – but the quirk itself has a wide range of applications.

  • Softening - Juzo Honenuki on Random Most Underrated Quirks From 'My Hero Academia'

    (#8) Softening - Juzo Honenuki

Softening allows Juzo Honenuki to soften anything he touches. While this may not sound impressive, it has some serious utility. He can give the ground quicksand-like properties, trapping his enemies in one place. It could also potentially allow him to soften and push down a window or wall to enter or exit a building, slip off handcuffs, and more.

  • IQ - Saiko Intelli on Random Most Underrated Quirks From 'My Hero Academia'

    (#9) IQ - Saiko Intelli

Saiko Intelli is arrogant about her quirk, but she has good reason. By merely taking a sip of tea, Saiko is able to temporarily boost her intelligence dramatically. The brand of tea determines the extent of the boost. This allows her to figure out nearly any problem, from complex math to predicting her opponent's movements.

IQ doesn't allow her to make flawless predictions every single time – she's not psychic – but it does allow her to make some good guesses.

  • Zoom - Mei Hatsume on Random Most Underrated Quirks From 'My Hero Academia'

    (#10) Zoom - Mei Hatsume

Because Mei is better known for her inventions (which she calls her “babies”) than her quirk, it’s easy to forget she has a low-key version of a byakugan. With her quirk, Zoom, Mei can clearly see up to 5 km (3.1 miles) away.

She mostly uses this ability to look for people who might be interested in buying her inventions or sponsoring her, but it could also be a real asset in long-range battle.

  • Dupli-Arms - Shoji Mezo on Random Most Underrated Quirks From 'My Hero Academia'

    (#11) Dupli-Arms - Shoji Mezo

Perhaps owing to his quiet personality, Shoji Mezo and his frankly incredible quirk are often overlooked. Dupli-Arms allows Shoji to create any body part he wants at the end of a tentacle attached to each of his six arms. What's more, those body parts are often more powerful that they otherwise would be – the eyes he creates on the end of those tentacles can see in 360 degrees.

Technically, he can branch out indefinitely, creating long stalks with sensory organs that provide him with information from far away, or with fists that can punch enemies without getting too close to them.

  • Tape - Hanta Sero on Random Most Underrated Quirks From 'My Hero Academia'

    (#12) Tape - Hanta Sero

Hanta Sero is basically anime Spider-Man, but he doesn’t receive the same level of adoration. Maybe it’s because he’s not a main character like Spidey, or maybe it’s because being a human tape dispenser seems dull. But his Tape quirk does come in handy – the stuff he ejects from his elbows is stronger than ordinary tape, and can be used to bind enemies. Also, he’ll never run out of tape.

  • Food - Soramitsu Tabe on Random Most Underrated Quirks From 'My Hero Academia'

    (#13) Food - Soramitsu Tabe

Food allows Soramitsu Tabe to eat and digest nearly anything, with no ill effects. It's ridiculously useful because he can consume enemies or break down anything trapping him. He can't digest poison, and whatever he's trying to eat has to be close enough for him to bite, but those drawbacks are pretty negligible when you can literally chew through concrete.

  • Copy - Neito Monoma on Random Most Underrated Quirks From 'My Hero Academia'

    (#14) Copy - Neito Monoma

Because Monoma is often used as comic relief throughout the series, it's hard to take him seriously. But Copy is a pretty awesome quirk to have. Who wouldn't want the ability to manifest other people's quirks? Monoma can copy and use a target's quirk for 5-10 minutes after coming into physical contact with them. He's also able to hold multiple quirks at the same time.

  • Fat Absorption - Fat Gum on Random Most Underrated Quirks From 'My Hero Academia'

(#15) Fat Absorption - Fat Gum

When Fat Gum was first introduced, no one expected his quirk to be so versatile. His quirk, Fat Absorption, is a perfect defense against opponents as it protects him from attack-heavy quirks, blades, and bullets. It also allows him to make any object or person sink into his body fat upon contact. But the coolest part about his quirk is that he can convert his stored fat and trade it for offensive muscles. While it leaves him defenseless, it gives him enhanced strength and power. He was able to defeat Rappa's powerful punches with this strength.

  • Telepath - Mandalay on Random Most Underrated Quirks From 'My Hero Academia'

    (#16) Telepath - Mandalay

Mandalay, one of the members of the Wild, Wild Pussycats, possesses the quirk, Telepath. She's able to communicate with multiple people through thought. This is a perfect quirk for reconnaissance or rescue missions as she can send necessary information to others without the enemy's knowledge. Plus, she can use her telepathy to distract and lower the guards of her opponents.

  • Elasticity - Gentle Criminal on Random Most Underrated Quirks From 'My Hero Academia'

    (#17) Elasticity - Gentle Criminal

It's easy to forget that Gentle Criminal's quirk, Elasticity, is a formidable threat since he's not the most sinister villain in the series. But it's actually quite powerful. It allows him to make anything he touches elastic. He can bend and manipulate large, heavy objects like a steel beam or even an entire building. And even more impressive, he can manipulate the air and use it as a bouncy shield or an aerial trampoline.

  • Chronostasis - Hari Kurono on Random Most Underrated Quirks From 'My Hero Academia'

    (#18) Chronostasis - Hari Kurono

We wish Chronostasis had more screen time because his quirk is pretty impressive. As Overhaul's right-hand man, Chronostasis can eliminate strong opponents like Eraserhead with his quirk. It gives him the ability to slow down his target's movements by hitting them with his clock-like hair. The minute-hand slows a target down for one minute while the hour-hand slows them for one hour.
