Akame of Akame ga Kill! is the strongest member of the Night Raid, a group focused on reconnaissance and assassination. Akame not only boasts superior swordsmanship, she also has some fascinating special abilities. She's immune to most poisons, allowing her to handle the poisonous blade Teigu.
She can move at Mach 1 - the velocity of sound. When Akame wants to kill someone, she can completely disguise her intentions and surprise her enemies. Defeating her is a challenge few people are equipped to meet.

What's more, her powerful personality demands obedience from even the strongest fighters in the Dragon Ball universe.

It's hard to imagine that All Might of My Hero Academia ever had a mentor - he has such a powerful presence that it seems like he had to have come to it on his own. But All Might got both his powers and his heroic attitude from Nana Shimura, the seventh inheritor of One For All.
The power allows its users to stockpile their power, which allows for super strength, super speed, and other incredible abilities - but unless the user is physically strong enough to withstand it, the strain can tear the user apart. Nana boasts the same incredible strength as her protege All Might.

You do not want to get on Lucy's bad side, but if you're any of the characters in Elfen Lied, you probably already have. Lucy can use "vectors" or invisible telekinetic arms, that can be incredibly powerful. These vectors are powerful enough to literally destroy the planet, and she's used them to kill over 9,000 people - but perhaps her most impressive ability is having a tragic enough backstory to make all those murders seem justifiable.

Only a fool would dare cross the Tornado of Terror. What she lacks in height, she makes up for tenfold in ability and strength. Tatsumaki is an S-class Rank 2 hero with psychic powers. She is considered to be one of the Hero Association's strongest heroes as well as the most powerful esper in the One Punch Man universe. She and her younger sister, Fubuki, are a star-studded duo known as the Psychic Sisters. Not only is she incredibly skilled and capable, she also has no tolerance for arrogant men who dismiss her as a little girl. You better think twice before you mess with her.

At the beginning of Kill la Kill, Ryuko Matoi doesn't know she has any special powers. Once she joins up with Senketsu, a sentient school uniform made with life fibers, a nearly immortal life form from space, she discovers her immense potential to kick butt. Later, it turns out that Ryuko doesn't actually need Senketsu to defeat her enemies - she herself is partially composed of life fibers.
These fibers not only grant her superhuman strength, they also allow her to easily heal even the most grievous of wounds.

Deadman Wonderland features a terrifying little girl named Shiro. Like Lucy from Elfen Lied, she's been endlessly experimented on, and that experimentation has made her a formidable opponent. As a result of this experimentation, Shiro can rapidly regenerate her body when wounded, and she can use something called the branch of sin, which allows her to control her own blood and use it as a weapon. The branch of sin can also be turned into a deadly whip.
Shiro's abilities increase dramatically when her body is being controlled by the Wretched Egg, her alternate personality.

Kanade's job is to help smooth over the personal issues of the denizens of the afterlife, but after they declare war on her, she has to defend herself. To do so, she develops an array of superhuman abilities.
Hand Sonic actually includes several techniques, all of which involve fighting with handheld blades. She can also distort images, create painful high-frequency sound waves, create clones of herself, absorb those clones, sprout angel wings, create a drill-like blue light that destroys everything in its path, and more.

When Puella Magi Madoka Magica begins, Madoka Kaname is just an ordinary high school student, with no special powers to speak of. When she finally agrees to become a magical girl in exchange for having a wish granted by the mysterious and conniving Kyuubey, she becomes more powerful than anyone had imagined she could be.
She wished to totally destroy every witch before it ever existed, thus freeing all other magical girls from the suffering and pain caused by fighting them. She essentially wishes for godlike powers, and ends up truly becoming a kind of god.

She once split the earth in half by punching the ground, she's so fast that she can travel from Earth to Saturn in a few seconds, and can lift up to 100 tons. As if that wasn't enough, in a Dragon Ball Super cameo, she easily defeated both Goku and Vegeta, two of the most powerful anime characters of all time.

Medaka Kurokami of Medaka Box is powerful to the point of absurdity. No one has ever been able to teach her anything, because she learns everything instantaneously. She can perfectly control every single movement in her body, even her own heartbeat. She's super strong, super fast, super flexible, and super hardy. She's an expert at countless forms of combat, and both humans and animals often feel compelled to obey her commands. She can even break the sound barrier.
