  Yuno Gasai might be one of the protagonists of Future Diary, but her willingness to eliminate anyone who so much as looks at Yukiteru whether or not they're actually a threat definitely qualifies her as a villain. She and Yukiteru are trying to win a competition to become gods using magical diaries.

  Shion Sonozaki is one of many victims of Hinamizawa Syndrome. Her exact role varies depending on which version of Higurashi is being discussed, but she's usually seen being extremely violent.

  Toga Himiko is a member of the League of Villains, but she's not really into any specific goal they might have. Really, all she wants to do is live in a community where she can be loved an accepted despite her burning desire to stab people.

  Nui Harime seems like a free spirit at first, but in reality her only goal is to serve her mother Ragyo, who happily sacrifices her in order to bring power to the alien Life Fibers. 

  The primary villain of Yona of the Dawn, Soo-Won, isn't really a terrible person - it's somewhat understandable that he eliminated his corrupt uncle for doing the same to his father. Still, he is the antagonistic force of the series - just a complicated one. 

  Dilandau Albatou is an old-school villain from Escaflowne. He's the leader of an elite group called the Dragonslayers, but he often loses sight of his actual goals due to his extreme emotional turmoil.

  As an employee of the Commission of Counter Ghoul, Juuzou Suzuya revels in mercilessly tormenting the ghouls he destroys, seeing it as a childlike, whimsical activity. His disregard for ghoul life arises from his childhood, which involved being brutally tortured by a ghoul. 

  Zechs Merquise (real name Milliardo Peacecraft) is the big boss of Mobile Suit Gundam Wing. As the former prince of the Sanc Kingdom, he wants to get revenge against the Earth government for taking down his kingdom. He wants to create a peaceful world free from conflict, but his methods involve oppression and acts of terror.

  Itachi Uchiha is more of an anti-villain than a villain per se - his intentions were good and he had little choice, but he did massacre his entire clan. Later, he joined the Akatsuki.

  By the end of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, Dio Brando is a vampire who is well over 100 years old. But when the series starts, he's a young man of 22, but he's already quite villainous. Just ask Danny the Great Dane.

  When the series starts, Light is actually a dissatisfied teenager, but by the time he's fully embraced his role as a vigilante, he's a young adult.   Elsa Granhiert is the first villain in the Re:ZERO universe. Known for her predilection towards disembowelment, she does an incredible job setting the tone for what will prove to be one of the most brutal isekai in anime history.

  Once a member of the Band of the Hawk, Griffth sacrificed most of his comrades in order to join the God Hand and acquire the powers of the god Femto. He does this because he hopes to create his own kingdom.

  Misa Amane isn't quite as popular as some of the other entries on this list, but she's definitely well-known. Misa is a member of Team Kira. She wants to help Light Yagami eliminate criminals because of how grateful she felt after he avenged her departed parents. That gratitude eventually turns into romantic love, and motivates her to do anything Light wants.

  Sōsuke Aizen posed as a loyal member of Soul Society before enacting one of the most stunning betrayals in anime history. He staged a coup and did everything he could to overthrow the organization. 

  Zeke Jaeger, also known as the Beast Titan, is the largest force stopping the Survey Corps from plugging the hole in Wall Maria. His goal is to destroy humanity within the walls. 

  Speed-O'-Sound Sonic is a minor but memorable villain from One Punch Man. Using his ninja-like powers, he can move at incredible speeds - but he's not fast enough to avoid Saitama's fist.

  Technically, Shogo Makishima is trying to free the world form an oppressive regime, but because his methods tend to involve things like trying to cut off Japan's food supply, it's hard to see him as anything other than villainous. 

  Teru Mikami was Light Yagami's most enthusiastic henchmen. Using the Death Note, he not only eliminated hardened criminals, he also took out people guilty of things like littering and jaywalking.

  Hisoka is one of the creepier characters of Hunter X Hunter. He's a hunter and former member of the Phantom Troupe, but his true goals boil down to his bloodthirsty whims.

  During the Fourth Holy Grail War, Kirei Kotomine is the master of Assassin, but during the Fifth war he's working with Gilgamesh to get the grail. He believes in the importance of beauty, but is unable to find beauty in anything other than suffering. 

  Gabriel Miller is one of the only Sword Art Online villains with a canon age. He's the Chief Technological Officer of "Glowgen Defense Systems" and he uses his position to do things like invade the Ocean Turtle and steal people's souls.

  DBZ spans many years, but Vegeta is only a villain when he first shows up at age 29. This Saiyan Prince once wanted to collect all the Dragon Balls in order to become immortal, and was perfectly willing ot destroy anyone who got in his way. These days, though, he's more concerned with trying to protect the Earth from its various enemies. 

  Kisame Hoshigaki is a member of the Akatsuki, and Itachi's partner. He carries the Samehada, a sentient and legendary sword. 

  Makoto Shishio was once a hitokiri in line to take on the battosai position. When his comrades teamed up to try and assassinate him, he decided to spend the rest of his life amassing enough power to get revenge.

  Because Rob Lucci remains at odds with the protagonists after the time skip, we'll go with his time skip age, 30. He was once a member of the World Government and served as Spandam's right-hand man. That's what led him to go after Nico Robin, one of the only survivors of the Ohara Incident.

  Bentham becomes one of Luffy's allies later in the series, so we'll stick with his pre time skip age. He's a former member of the Baroque Works, an organization dedicated to hunting pirates.

  After being manipulated by his ancestor Madara, Obito Uchiha becomes the force behind a complex plot to plunge all of humanity into eternal sleep so that they could be used as a source of chakra. 

  Stain hates hero society for its hypocrisy and its focus on fame and commercialism instead of true heroism. His response to this is to become a vigilante and attack any heroes he comes across.

  Gentle Criminal is a failed hero who starts committing petty crime and putting them on YouTube for clout. He tries to invade U.A. during its school festival, but Izuku is able to stop him before he can actually ruin anything. 

  Just like everybody else in Bungo Stray Dogs, Francis Scott Key Fitzgerald is named after a famous author. Unlike said author, though, he's the head of a villainous organization called the Guild, and he has an ability that makes his power increase when he spends money.

  Yoshikage Kira just wants to lead a peaceful life - but his idea of a peaceful life doesn't exactly mesh with society's. He wants to be left in peace to cut women's hands off and then take their lives. Naturally, the rest of the world isn't exactly down with that, so he's forced to fight using his Stand, Killer Queen. 

  Char Aznable appears in the Gundam franchise at multiple ages, but during Mobile Suit Gundam: Char's Counterattack, he's 33. He's one of the most noteworthy characters in the Gundam Wing franchise. He's the archenemy of Amuro Ray.
