  • Prior to the 2000 World Series, Bob Brenly, who normally did West Coast games with Thom Brennaman, regularly joined Joe Buck and Tim McCarver in the booth for events such as the World Series and All-Star Game. However during the 2000 World Series, he served just as a on-field color commentator and sideline reporter for FOX. Bob Brenly was on the verge of becoming the manager of the Arizona Diamondbacks, who won the World Series under Brenly just a year later. After Brenly was fired by the Diamondbacks in the 2004 season, he briefly returned to FOX until being hired by the Chicago Cubs as their color commentator. (Additional notes)

  • In 2001, Jeanne Zelasko became the first woman in more than a decade to regularly host Major League Baseball games for a network. The network canceled the pre-game show (as a cost-cutting measure) following the 2008 season. (Additional notes)

  • In 2020, Play-by-play announcer and Color Commentator will be calling the games from the Fox Network Center in Los Angeles, CA. (Additional notes)

About This Tool

The American League adopted the DH system in 1973, and its pitchers don’t need to be hit off the field. The National League has kept pitchers on the field, and pitchers usually come in ninth. Over the years, the League’s average batting average has been lower than the American league’s because pitchers have to hit, and its average defense rate has been lower. When two teams play each other (in a cross-league, Star or World Series) , the rules apply to which league the home game belongs.

The random tool generated 204 items, recording Major League Baseball lists from the Fox Broadcasting Company, including Joe Buck, John Smoltz, Ken Rosenthal, Kevin Burkhardt, Frank Thomas, Bob Brenly, and Steve Lyons.

Click the "Display All Items" button and you will get a list of Major League Baseball on Fox broadcasters.
