Dead Children's Playground, located in the middle of Maple Hill Cemetery in Huntsville, AL, is believed to be the most haunted place in the entire state. Some say the paranormal activity comes from restless spirits; the bodies of several abducted children were found there in the 1960s. Others claim the ghosts are those of the people buried in the graveyard.

As many as 5,000 people are buried under Weccacoe playground in Philadelphia, PA, but that hasn't stopped it from becoming a community space. Mother Bethel African Methodist Episcopal Church used the spot as a burial ground in the 1800s. The site later became a dump until someone decided to build a playground. Renovations unearthed the old graveyard.

Some locals believe that, when the cemetery was relocated, not all the bodies were removed. The unmoved remains could be the catalyst for the ghostly activity.
