  • Six Flags Great Adventure on Random Allegedly Haunted Amusement Parks And Attractions

    (#5) Six Flags Great Adventure

    • Amusement Park

Visitors to Six Flags Great Adventure amusement park in Jackson, NJ, have reported seeing teenagers standing and sitting throughout the park - only to realize these guests aren't real. Some ghosts appear to be wearing clothing from the 1980s or '90s.

This claim is particularly eerie because, in 1984, eight teenagers became trapped and ultimately perished in the park's Haunted Castle attraction. A volunteer firefighter recalled being unable to tell human bones from the skeleton props. Following the tragedy, state legislation began holding amusement parks to higher safety standards: fire safety requirements were upped and better emergency exit protocols were implemented for rides meant to disorient visitors.

  • Universal Studios Hollywood on Random Allegedly Haunted Amusement Parks And Attractions

    (#7) Universal Studios Hollywood

    • Amusement Park

In 1915, Carl Laemmle opened Universal City ranch to the public, providing visitors with the first inside look at the film industry. During the opening weekend festivities, however, the magic of cinema became a bit too real. During an aviation stunt meant to impress the thousands of guests, pilot Frank Stites plummeted to his demise for reasons still unknown.

Horrified, Universal City canceled the rest of the weekend's events, but modern visitors and staff continue to see a man walking around the backlot dressed as a pilot. John Murdy, the creative director of Halloween Horror Nights, has even heard someone giggling on the backlot. He created a dummy of the pilot for the attraction in an attempt to pay homage to the fallen Frank Stites. Murdy said he hasn't heard any disembodied laughing since, only the very alive screams of delighted visitors.

The picturesque Sylvan Beach Amusement Park in Sylvan Beach, NY, has a storied history dating back to the 1870s. Modern visitors and employees report familiarity with several ghosts who hang around the park, including Abby, the Lady in White, whose presence can be felt and heard in the hotel; Scott, who is seen in Playland Attic and other areas; and Jack, who lingers in the bar and occasionally opens doors.

All three spirits are said to have perished on the premises, with Scott being found in the Treasureland attraction. People also report hearing coins dropping while on the Park After Dark ghost tours. According to the Syfy show Ghost Hunters, the spirits are benevolent, only haunting the grounds because of a love for the park itself.

A spirited child named Annie is said to haunt Six Flags Over Texas. Guests and staff speak fondly of Annie and say she regularly turns lights on and off in her "room," located in a yellow house near The Texas Giant. Paranormal researcher Chad Miller said employees told him Annie's body had been found in the 1920s in a creek bed.

Researchers report seeing a teddy bear move in Annie's room, as well as hearing a voice say, "Let me play with your hair."

  • Kings Island on Random Allegedly Haunted Amusement Parks And Attractions

    (#6) Kings Island

    • Amusement Park

According to visitors, Kings Island amusement park has an alarming amount of ghosts traversing its Ohio premises. Guests report seeing a young girl in a blue dress, believed to have passed in the 1800s and to have been interred inside the island's cemetery. Known as either "Missouri Jane" or "Tram Girl," people see her at the International Restaurant and White Water Canyon ride.

Visitors also claim to see a male child in a white suit near the race tracks when the sun goes down. Named "Racer Boy," this ghost is allegedly the spirit of a child found in a dip on the Shooting Star track at Coney Island. This supposedly occurred before several of the ride's cars were relocated to King's Island.

Finally, John Harter, known as "Tower Johnny," also haunts the park. He is said to be the spirit of a young man who fell in 1983 while climbing the Eiffel Tower at the park's entrance.

Beyond these three spirits, many believe ghosts haunt the nearby ammo factory. The factory had several explosions throughout the last century, which when combined, ended the lives of at least 30 people and injured many more. Residents still say they hear footsteps following them and see swinging elevator cables while exploring the abandoned building.

  • RMS Queen Mary on Random Allegedly Haunted Amusement Parks And Attractions

    (#2) RMS Queen Mary

    • Ship

Permanently docked in Long Beach, CA, the Queen Mary is a floating hotel where ghost sightings are practically a daily occurrence. Before she retired, the Queen Mary made 1,001 trips across the Atlantic, logging nearly 50 losses along the way.

Some claim that more than 150 spirits may still haunt the luxury rooms and corridors of the immense ship. Among these alleged ghouls: a crew member who was felled by a watertight door, a woman who dances alone dressed in white, and people sporting clothing from the 1930s.

The ship is known as one of America's most haunted places. Guests have felt significant drops in temperature; seen flickering lights; and heard slamming doors, crying children, knocks on doors, and, of course, screams.
