  How He Survives: Nanook plays on the offense for most of this movie, protecting Sam from his older brother’s newfound vampiric urges. When he is confronted by Paul, one of the vampires, he assists the Frog Brothers in pushing the vampire into a bathtub filled with garlic and holy water. 
  Close Call(s): Nanook is not in any great danger during the film, aside from the possibility of being hurt by Michael when he targets Sam.

  What He Goes On To Do: He ostensibly lives a happy and normal cat life with Amanda, once he successfully slays the troublemaker.

  Who She Is Up Against: Precious is, above all, a target of circumstance. She is the beloved pet of the film’s primary antagonist, Buffalo Bill, so there is no incentive for any of the dangerous characters to hurt her.
  How She Survives: After Precious is lured into a well by Catherine Martin, one of Buffalo Bill’s captives, she breaks several bones. Her confinement in the well ultimately saves Martin’s life, as Buffalo Bill cannot bring himself to harm the dog.
  Close Call(s): She spends time in the bottom of the well. Also, Buffalo Bill is faced with the choice of slaying Martin and losing Precious, or keeping his dog but losing his prized target.

  Close Call(s): If he isn't freed from his false imprisonment at the pound, he won't be able to protect his family from their werewolf uncle. 
  What He Goes On To Do: He recovers from the aftermath of the werewolf showdown and is exonerated for the false accusations that Ted’s indiscretions were his own.
