(#5) He Introduced The Boy Wonder To 'Wild Sexual Debauchery'

By the time West landed the role of Batman, he was already 37 years old. He wasn't a senior citizen by any means, but to the 20-year-old Boy Wonder, Burt Ward, West was his mentor. So Ward was always game whenever West wanted to do something. In a radio interview, Ward claimed West was the primary instigator. According to Ward:

When I entered Batman as a naive 20-year-old who had only dated a couple of girls, I met Adam West, who immediately introduced me to the wildest sexual debauchery that you can imagine.

The night before West was to meet with Pope Paul VI, he got drunk, per usual. The next day, as he was standing in line waiting to see the pope, West realized the severity of his hangover - if he kneeled down to kiss the pope's ring, he likely couldn't stand up afterward. So instead of the customary greeting - and because he thought puking on the pope was impolite - West bowed slightly and shook the pontiff's hand.
Pope Paul VI was a massive fan of Batman and West, however, and he immediately said, "Oh, Signor West - I have seen all of your shows. I love pipistrello [the Italian word for bat]." Isn't this next-level fame?

Ward and West had something of a falling-out after the show concluded. They still made appearances together in costume, but by the end of the show's run, they were barely speaking. Ward's memoir hinted at his animosity toward West. According to The Independent:

Boy Wonder, published in 1995, accuses Adam West of practically every failing known to man: drunkenness, lechery, greed, and self-love; West is also portrayed as a poor tipper secretly troubled by the allegedly modest dimensions of his penis. Ward, meanwhile, refers to his manhood as "the monster" and "the beast in the bat trunks."
In 2005, West said of Ward's claims, "It was apparent to me... that Burt fell victim to making up stories to sell books. But in a way, it was flattering, because he made me sound like King Kong."

West's popularity peaked at the perfect time. The 1960s in America exuded a strong cultural emphasis on "free love." West was a man who knew this cultural climate well. During an interview, West once said he and his co-star, Burt Ward, “were like kids in a candy store. It was the Swinging '60s with free love, and women threw themselves at us."

In his heyday, West allegedly once had sex with eight women in a single sitting - or in this case, laying. According to West, "I remember one night with eight different women. [Sex party] is a harsh word, but it was eight at one time."
It's commendable West didn't toss around words carelessly, but it's hard to call his experience anything besides a sex romp. On some level, such sexual prowess seems physically impossible - then again, though, the man was Batman.

West was well-known as a dedicated man. He invested considerable effort into his craft, sometimes arriving on set as early as 7:45 am. Of course, this was partly because he had "young female co-stars in [his] dressing room at 7:45 in the morning."

If West wanted to satisfy his co-stars and get ready for the day's filming, he needed to arrive early and be ready to go.
