(#4) Mocking Palpatine’s Attempts to Assassinate Him
In Marvel's Darth Vader series, we get to see Vader's day-to-day dealings in the Empire. We also see Vader taking a lot of guff from Imperial brass, including his master. So, when Vader discovers the Emperor put him in a situation he's not expected to survive, Vader owns it and tells the Emperor to just try harder next time.

(#3) Owning Prince Xizor
The head of the extremely powerful crime organization Black Sun, Prince Xizor, had a bone to pick with Darth Vader. Not only did Xizor want revenge for one of Vader's orders resulting in the death of his family, he also wanted the favor of the Emperor. So, when Xizor discovers Luke is Vader's son, he puts a death mark on his head.
In retaliation, once he gets the opportunity, Vader blows up Xizor's space station above Coruscant with Xizor inside.

(#6) Beating Darth Maul in a Duel
While it was only a "What If?" scenario, the comics showed off Darth Vader going through a Sith trial. The trial, of course, had him going up against the specter of Darth Maul. After a brutal lightsaber duel, Vader finally defeats him by stabbing himself to skewer Maul at the same time.

(#13) Slaughtering Every Jedi He Comes Across
While Obi-Wan Kenobi told Luke that Vader helped hunt down the Jedi Knights, we never saw him in full Vader gear kicking ass during the height of the Empire. Well, the comics changed that. Not only do we see him kill Jedi after Jedi, but we saw him mentally breaking them before their end.
Some he drove to the dark side just before slaughtering them without mercy.

(#8) That Moment He Discovers Luke Is His Son
In Marvel's Star Wars comics, Vader is very interested in Luke. After all, any Force-sensitive kid who destroyed the Death Star is worth looking into. So, Vader employs the services of Boba Fett... who discovers this kid's last name is Skywalker.
Once Vader realizes just how much the Emperor lied to him, he's determined to get back what's his.
