  • Disneyland Has The 'Indiana Jones' Ride on Random Reasons Why Disneyland Will Always Be Better Than Disney World

(#1) Disneyland Has The 'Indiana Jones' Ride

While Indiana Jones isn't a Disney property, that didn't stop the titular hero from making appearances at various Disney parks. At Disney World, there's the Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectatular, where audience members can "Cheer on Indy and Marion as they perform amazing stunts with blazing special effects to demonstrate movie-making magic," according to the Disney World website.

At Disneyland, there's the Indiana Jones Adventure, which is an actual ride where patrons climb into a disheveled jeep, traverse a rickety bridge, encounter venomous snakes, and (hopefully) avoid getting hit by a giant boulder. It's one thing to watch others perform stunts, but at Disneyland, you actually get to be part of the action.

  • The Pirates Of The Caribbean Ride Is Way More In-Depth At Disneyland on Random Reasons Why Disneyland Will Always Be Better Than Disney World

(#2) The Pirates Of The Caribbean Ride Is Way More In-Depth At Disneyland

Both Disneyland and Disney World have a Pirates of the Caribbean ride, which inspired the movie franchise of the same name. However, the ride at Disneyland has a little bit more to offer guests. The Disneyland version features two drops, whereas the Disney World ride has only one. Additionally, Disneyland's Pirates ride has more special effects, such as wind blowing from cannons and shadowy projections of pirates fighting. To top it off, Disneyland's ride lasts for over 15 minutes, whereas Disney World's clocks in at around eight.

  • The Disneyland Haunted Mansion Gets A 'Nightmare Before Christmas' Makeover For The Holidays on Random Reasons Why Disneyland Will Always Be Better Than Disney World

(#3) The Disneyland Haunted Mansion Gets A 'Nightmare Before Christmas' Makeover For The Holidays

Both Disneyland and Disney World include The Haunted Mansion — a ride that takes attendees through a home filled with ghosts and other spooky creatures — but only Disneyland gives their mansion a special seasonal makeover called Haunted Mansion Holiday.

This annual overlay transforms the ride into a journey involving the characters from A Nightmare Before Christmas. Since the decorations are appropriate for both Halloween and Christmas, Haunted Mansion Holiday goes up in late September and continues through the end of the year.

  • At Disneyland, The Weather Is Basically Always Perfect on Random Reasons Why Disneyland Will Always Be Better Than Disney World

(#4) At Disneyland, The Weather Is Basically Always Perfect

If you go to Disneyland, you'll also be visiting Anaheim, CA. Most of the time, the temperature will be in the range of 70-90°F during daylight hours, before cooling down to a sweet 55°F at night. Occasionally, a heatwave might push temperatures above 100°F, and it does rain once in a blue moon, but both of those occurrences are pretty rare.

Things are very different at Disney World in Orlando, FL. There, the temperatures might be a bit higher, but visitors also have a crushing wave of humidity to look forward to. In terms of rainfall, Orlando experiences frequent downpours, especially between June and September. Some rain at the park isn't the end of the world, but since most attractions are outdoors, a poorly placed shower can ruin one's whole trip.

  • Disneyland Has Walt Disney's Apartment on Random Reasons Why Disneyland Will Always Be Better Than Disney World

(#5) Disneyland Has Walt Disney's Apartment

At Disneyland, visitors are given the opportunity to connect with Walt Disney himself via the Walk in Walt's Disneyland Footsteps guided tour. Since Disneyland was the only Disney park that the creator ever set foot in, this tour takes attendees behind the scenes, and gives them the inside scoop on what it was like when Disney and his crew were first creating the park.

Disneyland also features the creator's secret apartment, which is located above the fire station. While the park was under construction, Disney would often stay there overnight while shuttling back and forth between Anaheim and Los Angeles. The only downside is that the apartment is no longer officially part of the tour.

  • Disneyland Has Mr. Toad's Wild Ride on Random Reasons Why Disneyland Will Always Be Better Than Disney World

(#6) Disneyland Has Mr. Toad's Wild Ride

Like many of the classic Disney rides, Mr. Toad's Wild Ride seems silly on the surface, but contains some very dark undertones. The ride recreates The Wind in the Willows, and patrons tag along with an out-of-control driver who crashes into a library, nearly runs over a baker carrying pies, drives into a courthouse, meets a judge who finds him guilty, and eventually drives into Hell.

The whole thing is incredibly ridiculous, and is an absolutely essential part of any trip to Disneyland. It was one of the original rides at the park, and was initially also a feature of Disney World. However, while the Disneyland Mr. Toad is still around, the one at Disney World closed in 1998

  • Character Experiences Are Better At Disneyland on Random Reasons Why Disneyland Will Always Be Better Than Disney World

(#7) Character Experiences Are Better At Disneyland

One of the joys of going to a Disney park is getting to meet some of your favorite characters. If you can get a photo with them, that's even better. However, this feat is a little bit easier to accomplish at Disneyland. At the West coast park, characters are often found roaming about, waiting to be stopped by fans for pictures. Additionally, when characters set times for meet-and-greets, the lines are usually shorter at Disneyland.

  • Disney's California Adventure Has The California Screamin' Coaster on Random Reasons Why Disneyland Will Always Be Better Than Disney World

(#8) Disney's California Adventure Has The California Screamin' Coaster

Disney parks are known for having tamer rides, but there are still a handful of roller coasters for those who like an adrenaline rush. Of all Disney's coasters, many consider California Screamin' at Disney's California Adventure (part of Disneyland Resort) to be the very best. It includes a 108-foot drop, a loop, and the cars can go from 0-55 mph in four seconds.

  • Disneyland Tickets Are Cheaper on Random Reasons Why Disneyland Will Always Be Better Than Disney World

    (#9) Disneyland Tickets Are Cheaper

While price shouldn't be the determining factor in what makes one park better than the other, it's easily quantifiable, and a major concern for many Americans. While the actual admission price may vary depending on the day, a typical one-day ticket to Disney World will run you $115, while at Disneyland, it's $110.

If you visit the parks during one of the off-peak days, the difference is even more striking. At Disney World, the price will drop as low as $107 for a single-day pass, but at Disneyland you can get in for as little as $97. If you're planning to visit all the parks contained on Disney's Orlando compound, park-hopper tickets are considerably more expensive than passes that grant access solely to the Magic Kingdom. Luckily, Disneyland isn't nearly as fragmented, so attendees can see all it has to offer without forking over extra cash.

  • Disneyland Came First on Random Reasons Why Disneyland Will Always Be Better Than Disney World

    (#10) Disneyland Came First

On July 17, 1955, Walt Disney's dream of opening a theme park filled with magic and nostalgia came true. Disneyland opened in Anaheim, CA, and was an instant success. Disney took a hands-on approach to creating the park, and Disneyland is actually the only Disney park he ever set foot in. Disney World opened in 1971, half a decade after Disney passed away in 1966. The legacy of Disney's vision is one of the main reasons why it's hard for any of the other Disney parks to top the original.

  • Disneyland Is Adjacent To The Avengers Campus on Random Reasons Why Disneyland Will Always Be Better Than Disney World

(#11) Disneyland Is Adjacent To The Avengers Campus

In summer 2020, the Avengers Campus will open at California Adventure, just across from Disneyland. In addition to the Guardians of the Galaxy ride that replaced the Tower of Terror in 2017, the new land will include the interactive “Web Slingers: Spider-Man Adventure," the Pym Test Kitchen, and a chance for visitors to meet Black Panther's Dora Milaje warriors.

In a press release, Scot Drake, portfolio creative executive for Walt Disney Imagineering, said his team designed each attraction to be immersive and provide visitors with "amazing character experiences." Guests will have the chance to meet Doctor Strange, Iron Man, Ant-Man, The Wasp, Black Widow, Black Panther, Thor, the Guardians of the Galaxy, Captain America, and Captain Marvel. Drake added, “We also crafted an original story that ties all the experiences together in ways that are authentic to these characters. We worked side-by-side with teams that brought the Avengers films and comics to life to create a place that champions the next generation of heroes.”

Disney World might boast a superhero or two scattered here and there, but can it compete with Earth's Mightiest Heroes?

  • You Can See All Of Disneyland In One Day on Random Reasons Why Disneyland Will Always Be Better Than Disney World

(#12) You Can See All Of Disneyland In One Day

The Disneyland Resort consists of two parks: the original Disneyland and Disney's California Adventure. Both parks are right next to each other, so you can easily go from one to the other, and probably check out all the rides and attractions that you want to see in one day.

Meanwhile, Disney World is made up of four unique parks: the Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Disney's Hollywood Studios, and Disney's Animal Kingdom. On the one hand, that means Disney World offers a little more variety than Disneyland, but if you want to see more than one park in a day, doing so will be more of a chore. Plus, the parks are scattered throughout the marshes of Orlando, so get ready to spend a good portion of your day waiting in line for the monorail.

  • Splash Mountain Is Splashier At Disneyland on Random Reasons Why Disneyland Will Always Be Better Than Disney World

(#13) Splash Mountain Is Splashier At Disneyland

If you want to cool off by taking some refreshing water directly to the face, there's a Splash Mountain at both Disneyland and Disney World. However, if you ride at Disneyland, you're going to get a little extra splash, especially if you sit in the front of your log. On the other hand, if you hope to get through Splash Mountain without getting soaked, you might prefer the one at Disney World (although that kind of defeats the whole purpose of the ride).

  • At Disneyland, Churros Are Nearly Everywhere on Random Reasons Why Disneyland Will Always Be Better Than Disney World

(#14) At Disneyland, Churros Are Nearly Everywhere

It's hard to get people to agree on snacks, but pretty much everyone knows that the churro is one of the greatest culinary inventions of all time. If you find yourself fiending for some tasty cinnamon-dusted dough while visiting Disneyland, you're in luck. There are 13 different churro carts located inside the park, making them easily available from virtually any section of the establishment. There have even been Oreo churros available on some special occasions. In contrast to this, if you want a churro at Disney World, get ready to hunt. The pastries are only available at two locations, so you may need to go out of your way to fulfill your cinnamon craving. To make things worse, there's no fast pass to cut the churro line at Disney World, so you'd better hope that no one else is hungry for them.
