I made a little aluminum foil cover for my coffee mug, to keep a "film" from forming on the top of my coffee (I use heavy cream in my coffee). Not only does the foil cover keep a film from forming, it prevents heat from rising from the mug. My coffee stays nice and hot for as long as it takes me to finish it, which can take an hour or more.   This bowl is the solution to all my woes! I tried this first with frosted flakes and wouldn't you know it, as I sat down to try it, the 2 yr old needed to go potty. Upon finishing of her business, we returned to my cereal which of course was still crunchy. As I then stood to eat my cereal (because moms don't get to sit), the slit in the bottom allowed me to hold it without spilling.
  
  But the best part of all....I learned that the superb crunch of my cereal was enough to drown out the screams of my children as they fought over a toy. Sure, I was back to reality after my bowl was empty but it was a great escape.
  
  Only downside is that my mouth is not used to this level of crunchy.
